16,000 Aion Cheaters Feel The Banhammer

by Adam Biessener on Nov 24, 2009 at 05:15 AM

We admit, we chortled a little bit when the announcement came that NCsoft had banned 16,000 Aion accounts for cheating. This comes on the heels of the removal of all chat privileges for characters level 5 or lower to combat the unbelievable gold spam. The game's community has struggled with botting and real money trading since launch, and while those issues have frustrated players, the mass banning is a positive step. The company is surely going to do what it can to make Aion a solid game moving forward, given its strong sales.

Of course, NCsoft could have developed a game that didn't require massive amounts of in-game money and XP grinding to progress in the first place. That's crazy talk, though.
