Torchlight Demo Released

A two-hour free trial version of well-received action/RPG Torchlight is now available from publisher Perfect World Entertainment. After your two hours is up, $20 unlocks the full game.

Torchlight has players diving into a randomly generated dungeon from an isometric perspective, slaughtering monsters along the way and collecting plenty of loot. It's a shameless Diablo clone, but one that captures the spirit of that classic and offers huge variety in monsters and attacks. Read the full GI review here.

I've been playing this game obsessively for the last couple nights. Now that there's a demo, I highly recommend everyone give it a shot! So addictive!

  • I will definitely be checking this out! Can't wait to go hands on with this game!

  • How close is it to Diabllo 2? I am a die hard fan of Blizzards amazing franchise.

  • Many of my friends, who know I loved Diablo keep recomending this, I will for sure get the demo!

Gameplay wise it's almost identical to D2. If you dig D2, Torchlight is a great time.

  • Makes me wish I had a decent PC.

  • Idk why there doing this news piece now, there was a demo on Steam way before this was released like almost back when the game cam out. I guess GI didn't get the Memo about the demo lol.

The entire world doesn't have Steam, champ.

  • I might give it a shot.

  • I'll have to try it, I get bored while I'm sitting at college.

  • I played the demo through a bit. I totally enjoy it but I want to be able to play with friends and my brother at the very least!

  • Loved the demo. Im going to get the game. It literally is Diablo 2 with pets.

  • Another good game from the creators of Perfect World, sign me up.

  • I love games that ripoff other games' mechanics and make them better.

  • qIt was disappointing, but that's probably just because I HATE role playing games.  All you do is fight, level up, fight, level up, fight, level up, then go to the store to buy new armor.  Then it repeats.
