Brad Pitt Could Star In Dark Void Movie

We’ve had our eye on Capcom’s Dark Void for some time now. The sci-fi epic from the makers of Crimson Skies about a pilot who gets lost in the Bermuda triangle and finds a jetpack looks promising. However, now the property could soon blow up to be bigger than we’d expected thanks to Brad Pitt.

Today Capcom announced it had just secured a deal with Pitt’s production company Plan B Entertainment – under a Creative Partnership with Reliance BIG Entertainment – to make a Dark Void Motion picture. The ink on this deal is still pretty fresh, so there aren’t many details yet, but early rumors that Pitt himself might star in the film have already started circulating.

The game is still set for a January 19, 2010 release, and the movie likely won’t hit theaters for a couple years, which incidentally would be the perfect timeframe for a Dark Void sequel. Video game movies don’t have a good track record, but they seem to be getting better. Maybe by the time Dark Void hits the silver screen we won’t feel shame walking into the theater to see a game-based movie.

What do you think? Would you go see a Dark Void movie?

  • no,i would not go see a dark void movie.how come game to movie goes about as well as movie to game?does anyone else notice this?transformers game was pretty bad.resident evil movies are just getting wierd,i may not have played the first few games but i'm pretty sure there wasn't a whole army of alices,am i right?

  • Say WHAT?!?

  • I liked many of Brad Pitt's movie, like Ocean's 11 and Mr. and Mrs. Smith. But I cannot see him sticking to a cheesy script like most video game movies have been.

  • i would totally go see a dark void movie!! It could be a great sci-fi/action summer flick

  • Staff

Brad Pitt is much smarter than to star in this movie.

  • Depends how the game turns out

  • i would liek to go see that movie.

  • ehh...

  • Yeah if it was for somthing like zelda or somthing i might go but you know i sorta wish they did a better movie to game/game to movie thing

  • Who's Brad Pitt?

  • The game doesn't look interesting so i won't watch the movie unless they put it on cable TV...

  • I would see the Dark Void movie if it were called The Rocketeer 2: Space Murders

  • i'm not even that excited about the game.  sounds boring.

  • I have to agree with Andy, Brad Pitt is too smart to get involved with this movie at a direct level.

  • I like Brad Pitt, but a movie of Dark Void? No.

  • If anything Bradd Pitt needs to star in a Bioshock movie

  • Im pretty sure a dark void movie will no doudt suck and you know what else there making a Sims movie. Yep epic fail.

  • This is a really tough call.  The game isn't out yet so it is really hard to say if the game is going to good, much less a movie based on it.  But the premise has uniqueness to it and Brad Pitt is an excellent actor so I think if the movie came out today, I would probably see it.  Definitly over some other films out today.  **cough** New Moon **cough**

  • I would go see the movie to support the industry. Weather I think it would be good or not is up for debate.
