Brad Pitt Could Star In Dark Void Movie

by Ben Reeves on Nov 19, 2009 at 11:22 AM

We’ve had our eye on Capcom’s Dark Void for some time now. The sci-fi epic from the makers of Crimson Skies about a pilot who gets lost in the Bermuda triangle and finds a jetpack looks promising. However, now the property could soon blow up to be bigger than we’d expected thanks to Brad Pitt.

Today Capcom announced it had just secured a deal with Pitt’s production company Plan B Entertainment – under a Creative Partnership with Reliance BIG Entertainment – to make a Dark Void Motion picture. The ink on this deal is still pretty fresh, so there aren’t many details yet, but early rumors that Pitt himself might star in the film have already started circulating.

The game is still set for a January 19, 2010 release, and the movie likely won’t hit theaters for a couple years, which incidentally would be the perfect timeframe for a Dark Void sequel. Video game movies don’t have a good track record, but they seem to be getting better. Maybe by the time Dark Void hits the silver screen we won’t feel shame walking into the theater to see a game-based movie.

What do you think? Would you go see a Dark Void movie?
