Silent Hill Shattered Memories’s Colorful Cast Arrives December 8

Konami’s latest entry in the Silent Hill franchise, Shattered Memories, is on its way to the Nintendo Wii on December 8. PSP and PlayStation 2 versions of Harry Mason’s quest to find his daughter Cheryl are promised shortly after. In the meantime, we have the skinny on the game’s cast.

If you recall the original Silent Hill, Shattered memories begins very similarly. Harry Mason gets in a car wreck, losing track of his young daughter Cheryl in the process. He proceeds to wander the snowy streets and encounters a handful of the town’s colorful residents.

Policewoman Cybil makes a return, this time far more skeptical of Harry and his episodes in Silent Hill. Harry also meets Michelle, a sultry attendee of a high school reunion who’s having boyfriend issues. Then we have Dahlia, a non-conformant fire cracker who seems to know Harry a little too well. Dahlia doesn’t exactly sound like the crazy old woman with the same name from the first game. Overworked nurse Lisa makes an appearance too, sparking protective characteristics in Harry despite her world-weariness.

Finally there’ s Dr. K. He’s the man who will be administering psychological evaluations to the player, facilitating the personality profiling feature of the game. His interactive tests are used to custom tailor a uniquely horrifying experience for the player.

What do you think about the changes made to the original cast? Anybody beginning to wonder how different the story will be overall compared to the original?

  • I think that the story will probably be a little bit different.

  • Maybe it will be better this time around

  • I haven't played the original since 2000, and there have been five other Silent Hill experiences since then. So if the story is slightly different, I highly doubt I notice. PS2 copy for me.

  • i think this game will be an epic fail

  • I have been waiting SO long for a Silent Hill remake, and its not even on current-gen platforms.... I was really hoping they'd remake it for PS3. At any rate, I haven't played the 1st one in a few years but I don't remember any characters that have been left out except for the crazy doctor who works for Lisa. Unless that is doctor K, but it doesn't sound that way. I guess I get to play it on PS3 regardless, even if its a PS2 game. Backwards Compatibility FTW!

  • Not too much different from the original. It still follows the same concept.

  • Been a fan of the series for years. Loved the first one on PS1. I hope that this remake holds up to the same standards as the original. Don't have a Wii though. Hopefully the PSP version is cool. Too bad no 360 version.

  • maybe the story will make some *** sense this time too.

  • girl in the pic looks hot.

  • Let's hope the guy who turned the hospital's power off because of Silent Hill does not buy this game.  Check Manny's blog.  That's the link(How do you hyperlink in a comment?
