In a recent interview with Gearbox founder Randy Pitchford set for January's issue of Game Informer, the enthusiastic Borderlands creator shed some light on the developer’s upcoming Aliens: Colonial Marines game. If you were afraid that the game had been completely thrown to the wayside by publisher Sega in favor of Rebellion Developments’ Aliens Vs. Predator game, you’re wrong. Taking a moment from enjoying the great critical reception of Borderlands, Pitchford tells us how the development of Aliens: Colonial Marines is going:“I'll tell you this: We love Aliens. You guys know that. You guys did a cover story, you know how much we care about it. We're working our butts off on it. I think when it comes, people won't be disappointed, but right now it's really not up to us to talk about it.”“I think Sega is really interested in everybody focusing on the AvP game they've got upcoming, so they're focusing all of their communication around that. And frankly, as an Aliens fan, I'm looking forward to that, too. We'll see when that comes,” says Pitchford.If Randy’s trademark enthusiasm continues to mount for Colonial Marines as it did for Borderlands, the man’s optimism alone may ensure a hit game. At any rate, German gamers being neglected Alien Vs. Predator may yet have Xenomorphs to slay in their future.

Im really excited about Gearbox. Borderlands is great and they way that guy talks about games makes me think he really loves his work. Im sure that game is going to be as awesome as it can be.

ive been waiting for more news on this game, seems like it could be a cool survival horror-ish fps.
but i still think those face-humpers look like... well i'll let you form your own conclusions.
2010 is going to be an exciting year for ALIEN fans, such as myself.
I expect Colonial Marines to outshine AvP3 in campaign mode, but interestingly enough CM will also feature competitive multiplayer as well as four-player coop.
That's a whole lot of extraterrestrial drama. I look forward to it.
i thought it was cancled a few months ago but now that i know it's not i hope they make it at least close to as awesome as borderlands.which do you think will be better avp or aliens colonial marines?
It must be really tough trying to create a successful game in the FPS genre. Lets hope Gearbox’s extra effort will help them pull it off.
Aliens is starting to really shape up and look pretty cool. Hopefully his enthusiasm towards the game does it well.

Wait, theres another interview with Randy Pitchford? they already had one in the may 2007 issue (GTA IV). Finally overlapping, there are so many busy people willing to deal with journalists.

Awesome! I saw that the game was delayed, but I wasn't disappointed to hear it. With all the work they put into borderlands, its good to know they are still doing the best they can for a great, quality product. I am willing to wait.
When you pick aliens as the games focus you already have the means to success. Lets see how great gearbox can make this game after their big success with borderlands.
Hopefully their hard work means the titles is getting deserved attention and won't simply be a "meh" game.

This game is going to be great now that Gearbox is heading it up...their games have been good stuff from Brother in Arms to the Borderlands

Sounds awsome. I am still playing borderlands and loving it. So I am excited to hear about gear boxes next big adventure.

yeah, i know, it looks like a vagina! there i said it!
but besides that, i thought this game was changed into AVP (although i was naive then and never looked at the devs). i got the GI mag that covered this game and it looked great then (it also looked about finished, too). if this game plays as good as it looks i will be getting this.
