Dreamcast Not Dead – New Release Set For 2010

Dreamcast fanboys dry those eyes and start dusting off your systems; it looks like Sega’s last console will be getting at least one more title. Developer TDGMods is working on a kind of sequel to the 1997 PC release Blood.

This new first-person shooter is called Hypertension, Built using the Hyper3dge engine – a modified version of the original Doom engine – players will be able to control two different characters in a story that spans more than a century. Featuring light RPG elements and many of the weapons and enemies from Blood, Hypertension is set to release sometime in 2010 for PC, Lynux, and Dreamcast.

If you want to see the game in action check out the trailer below. The graphics aren’t much to look at, but this looks like the kind of game we would have played back in 1998. Anyone remember Blood? Was it any good?
