Modern Warfare 2, looks like you have competition this November after all. PS3 owners get the exclusive first crack at the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 multiplayer beta starting November 19. Watch the latest teaser trailer after the break.
The multiplayer beta takes place at the Arica Harbor, a Chilean port that serves as a centerpiece to the country's trade and commerce. The only commerce gamers needs to worry about is the bullet exchange that takes place between the American heavy armor rolling in from the desert and the Russian infantry stationed in the town's industrial center. The beta features only one of the four multiplayer modes found in Bad Company 2: the Rush mode made famous by DICE's last Battlefield foray.
Sony took the opportunity to claim bragging rights regarding the exclusivity pact. “This is an outstanding opportunity for PlayStation gamers to get early access to one of the most action-packed and polished shooters in the marketplace with Battlefield: Bad Company 2,” says a Sony spokesman. “We’re happy to help DICE achieve their superior level of multiplayer excellence in the game.”
The PC open beta begins in December, but Xbox 360 owners must wait until the new year to get a taste of Bad Company 2. This round goes to you, PS3 fan boys.

Dang... Ah well, on the bright side, I would've lost the demo in the tides of other awesome games coming out this year.
i think this is the game that will let everyone know DICE isnt a company to be taken lightly. cant wait for the game!

That game was Battlefield 1942. Only to console gamers are the DICE guys still unheralded.
DICE's superior level of multiplayer excellence? I think thats counting your chickens before they hatch. We'll see who has more players, but i'm willing to bet that MW2 outsells, has more players, and is generally much better than Battlefield can dream of being. The Sony spokesman who made this quote needs to check himself before he makes comments that have nothing behind it but speculation and wishful dreams.

I don't get the straight up comparisons between the games. COD is a fast-paced, run and gun infantry based multiplayer game. Battlefield is a squad based experience with vehicular combat, larger maps, and more of a focus on tactics. They are completely different awesome experiences in my book.
Finally the ps3 gets something! With microsoft reigning in all these exlusives and exclusive launch windows, whats the big deal if the ps3 gets the bfbc2 beta early for a bit?
Besides mw2 looks really cool and will probably be really cool but bc2 doesnt look bad. One thing that mw needs that bc has is destructible environments! No excuse not to have those.
don't be mad 360 owners, it's not like anyone can connect to EA's crappy servers more than once a month.
Im so distracted with the release of modern warfare 2, probably wouldn't even gotten to it. oh well cheers to ps3..Xbox 360 for life!
IMHO BFBC had better ideas than that of COD4
Don't flame me, just the way I see it. I liked BFBC's squad combat, vehicles, and a lot of other things. But BFBC had issues. If DICE works out the kinks of the first one, I think that I might just like it better. I like tactics better than rambo w/ M16 through everything.
My Ps3 recently stopped working so it looks like I won't be trying Bad Company 2 until next year.I will probably be to busy playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2,Assassins Creed 2,left 4 Dead 2 anyways.

@ Paulinatr I think Bad Company was better than CoD4 but that is just my opinion. It's mostly the characters. Characters in BC beat Cod4 characters. Multiplayer I'll have to go with BC for the huge maps and great classes. Character and weapon design goes to CoD4. Story is tied.
Finally! I loved the first one and I'm glad to see Xbox owners getting screwed by a game company instead of the other way around. One point for us!
Looks pretty awesome, although i'd like to see actual game fotage instead of just pictures.
