Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Coming To Wii?

After nearly five handheld outings (assuming you include Apollo Justice and the upcoming Miles Edgeworth spin-off in the count), famed virtual lawyer Phoenix Wright has fought through court enough times to earn a console outing. If the latest leak from the German USK software rating board is to believed, that dream may finally be coming true.

GamerBytes picked up on a new rating from the organization for a game titled Pheonix Wright: Ace Attorney, the same name as the original Phoenix Wright for Nintendo DS. Given the shared name, I'm assuming this would probably be a port of the original rather than an all new adventure, although I'd be happy to be wrong on that.

The article from GamerBytes speculates that release could use high-res assets that were created for a Japan-only PC port of the series last year and also that the game could show up on WiiWare. This would be the biggest WiiWare release in quite some time, although it would be even bigger if they happen to be creating new content involving everyone's favorite objection-filled lawyer.

  • Nice. I've never played the original Ace Attorney, maybe now I could see what the fuss is about.

  • ^ Get a DS and play the games. They're awesome. IDK how this series will be played on the Wii though.

  • Great series, interesting choice going on the Wii, thought the gamnes were done brilliantly on the DS, maybe seeing it bigger and more interactive would be cool, and maybe even a connection with the DS would be sweet.

  • This was by far probably one of the best series I that have ever played on the DS, and one of my all time favorite games. I'm really hoping that this will come to the Wii in any way, shape, or form.

  • If this is ported to the Wii and redone like Atlus did to Trauma Center, I'll cry in happiness.

Exciting! Ace Attorney would be perfect for Wii...though I do prefer my courtrooms to be portable.

  • @Joe Juba

You just refuse to be happy don't cha ;-)?? If it's as good as the DS versions then it will be awesome.

  • I hope that it's new content...and if not, at least an updated version of the original. Even if the updates were just fixing a couple of the typos, I'd be happy :)

  • Will it be another point and click adventure or will it also provide some action sequences or something.

  • It's been a long time since I have seen the kind of coverage that Ace Attorney gets. Everyone sounds excited, so I too am excited, even if it's vicariously... Anything that will rock the Wii is good in my book.
