Makers Of Company Of Heroes Tease New Game With Comic

by Ben Reeves on Nov 04, 2009 at 07:33 AM

Company of Heroes was one of the best RTS titles of 2006, so we’re eager to learn what anyone who worked on that project is up to now. Part of the Heroes team has split off to form their own studio Smoking Gun Interactive, and while the company isn’t ready to talk about its game yet, it recently released a graphic novel that teases the company’s upcoming project.

Simply called X, the comic is written by award-winning author and media theorist Douglas Rushkoff and illustrated by Smoking Gun’s lead concept artists Cheoljoo Lee and Younger Yang. The story revolves around a group of scholars and military types who stumble upon a conspiracy of global proportions. According to the press release, “their struggle to discover the truth will lead them into a massive conspiracy that predates humanity itself.” The story sounds promising and we dig the art, so we’re interested to see where this series is headed.

If you are interested in reading the first part of the graphic novel for yourself you can check it out here. Anyone who likes viral marketing might want to explore page 13 closely as it opens up a pretty cool teaser for Smoking Gun‘s new game – whatever its going to be.
