Avengers Assemble! Sega Releasing Thor and Captain America Games in 2011
Marvel Comic fans probably already know that Thor and Captain America are heading to the silver screen in 2011, but Sega just confirmed that it will release two games based off the films around the same time.
Thor is currently scheduled for a May 2011 theatrical release, while The First Avenger: Captain America is on the calendar for July 2011. Sega actually announced that it had acquired the license for these characters back in 2007. Hopefully that means Sega is taking its time to polish these titles; the company certainly has an uphill battle ahead of it if it wants to compete with one of the greatest arcade releases of all time: Captain America and The Avengers.
Consider the possibilities that both Batman and Spider-Man could have films landing in 2011 as well, and we’re starting to wonder if comic fans are going to have any time to read actual comics in the next few years.
