I pre-odered this about a week ago and was surprised to discover the hat after firing up TF2. Great to see they are continually supporting such a fantastic game.

Meagan I just hope Valve doesnt think of making Left 4 Dead 3 next year... I'm already disappointed with L4D 2 the new content in 2 is just 2 new special zombies and a couple of melee weapons and new maps... Those I would love to pay for as a 20 dollar DLC, but as a new game, All I can say to Valve is no freaking way I'm gonna spend money on that...

Valve's website flavor text is more entertaining than most full games.
I pre-ordered awhile back, but this was a nice touch because I'm an avid TF2 player as well.

Anyway, i would definitely do this if i had the money. Also, I agree with Phil about Valve's flavor text. As serious and mature as most of Valve's games are, it's good to see that they still have a good sense of humor.
Haha, what's next? Preorder Bioshock 2 and get a special Big Daddy glove to wear. Preorder Halo: Reach and get a bandana for your Spartan to wear instead of a helmet (shields included). Preorder Mass Effect 2 and get Geth armor for your character.... wait that would be pretty cool...
If you all knew the pain those without hats feel in TF2, then you would know how awesome it is. Hats are the greatest thing Valve has ever done.

Maybe a tank grabbed the portal gun and shot and Bill but it only took his hat and it fell off into the Team Fortress 2 universe. Makes perfect sense.
