Those who preordered L4D2 have had the privilege of downloading a demo and mowing through hordes of zombies in The Big Easy since October 27th. Today, those not so quick to reserve the game are going to get a chance to get their feet wet… with blood!

The Left 4 Dead 2 demo is ready and waiting for Xbox 360 users to download, no preorder required. The PC version is slated to be available to everyone today also, but wasn’t yet available on Steam when we tried. Keep trying!

Players take to the infected streets of The Parish campaign in the co-op sneak peek. Be sure to bring your friends along for the carnage. Left 4 Dead 2 will be unleashed in all its horror November 17th.

If you don't mind me adding, for the 360, only gold members can download it right now. Silver members have to wait yet another week before getting it.

who honestly gets silver? To me, it seems like a waste. You miss out on basically everything that makes XBL great.

I won't get into the politics involved in the Gold member vs Silver dispute, but they are trying to keep the servers up, and if that means weeding out all of the silver members for the moment, they they'll just have to wait another week. Valve and Microsoft can better prepare for how many people they expect to download the demo and make it a better experience for all.

The demo is pretty unplayable, there is a ridiculous amount of lag. might just be me though.

I liked Left 4 Dead just fine, but I never understood why it got so much hype. Yeah, it's a Valve game and it has zombies, but it also had like 5 hours of playable content and was strictly a multiplayer mode. Graphically, I think all of the Valve games are a little behind the times (though screens from the L4D2 look pretty good). Don't get me wrong, I own it and I play it, but there's nothing revolutionary about it to me. It would also be nice if there were more than like 4 different weapons.

Man, I really didn't wanna spend anymore money on new games this Fall. But after playing through the demo a few times this afternoon, I don't see how I'm not going to stop myself from picking up L4D2.
