‘Dangerous Days Of Daniel X’ Heading To DS

THQ today announced that it’s bringing James Patterson’s “The Dangerous Days of Daniel X” to the Nintendo DS and DSi in January. Based on the books and graphic novel, Daniel X: The Ultimate Power tells the tale of Daniel X, a boy born of alien parents. X has to using his amazing superpowers (Strength! Speed! Agility! Conjuration!) to prevent the bad aliens from coming to Earth and enslaving us all.

“Having successfully collaborated with James on his Women’s Murder Club games, we are thrilled to expand the partnership to bring to life the epic tale of Daniel with the first Daniel X game ever offered,” said Doug Clemmer, THQ’s executive vice president, Kids, Family and Casual Games.  “Our first game in the Daniel X series is a perfect complement to its literary counterparts, and a great way for fans to enhance their knowledge and enjoyment of the world of Daniel X.”

The game apparently focuses on X’s ability to pull objects from the ether, allowing players to solve puzzles as he travels across a mysterious alien world. It sounds like it could be an interesting mechanic, or at least one that’s suitable for the platform. We’ll have to wait and see if developer Griptonite Games can pull it off.

  • I can tell already that this won't end well.  Poor Patterson's book is going to be butchered...

  • second comment ftw!!!

  • Could you have found a picture of Patterson looking any more sad?

  • I wonder why James Patterson all of a sudden is starting to bring his books and his talent to the DS?  I mean, I wasn't really impressed with the first game.

I don't trust those eyes. No, sir!

  • I don't think this will be good at all. I think Patterson should just have his books and a movie. Not to mention Daniel X is not refered to as X...oh well I look forward to book 3. The games not so much.

  • the book was good but a game on the DS?  what were they thinking?

  • James Patterson needs to stay out of video gaming!
