DJ Hero Starts Mixing In DLC

Gamers who’ve sprung for the pricey new DJ Hero pack will be happy to hear that the game is already pumping out its first downloadable tracks. The Extended Mix Pack 01 is already available on Xbox Live (480 Microsoft Points) for 360 and PlayStation Network ($5.99) for PS3. The pack spins up two new mixes of an impressive pedigree. We have two video clips featuring the new tracks.

•“All Of Me” by 50 Cent featuring Mary J. Blige vs. “Radio Ga Ga” by Queen
•“DARE” by Gorillaz vs. “Can’t Truss It” Performed by Public Enemy

Activision has also revealed a second mix pack targeted for November 24th, from DJ David Guetta, which will include three tracks from the world-renowned artist:

• “When Love Takes Over” featuring Kelly Rowland
• “Sexy Chick” featuring Akon
• “On The Dance Floor” featuring will.i.am and apl.de.ap of the Black Eyed Peas

Lest players on the Wii feel left out: All the mix packs will be broken down and made available as individual downloadable singles on November 24th for 300 Wii Points apiece.

  • Ugh, 50 cents in it, blah, automatic no buy lol

  • Huh, I wasn't sure how they'd handle DLC, seeing as they're made into mixes. It's got to be a lot more work than average. But hey, it's Activision, and they're not going to miss a chance to take more of our money!

I really hope that the DLC offerings from here on are top quality like this. Then I'll have a hell of a lot to check out once I inevitably pick this game up.

  • Game is out a week and they are selling DLC already?  Why not just bundle that into the game and have folks enjoy it for at least a month before you start tossing DLC content out there.  Not a good move on Activision's part if you ask me.

  • coool

  • eh, just not that into it.

  • A great game made better by the smart decision to make downloadable tracks available

  • is this game good?

  • Yay...more music stuff for the game add on section on the 360.  They should just make a music game add on section, and turn the game add on section to games that have DLC every few months.

  • With the breath of fresh air that DJ Hero has breathed into this genre, I for one am stoked at the idea of new DLC offerings.  Lets hope that when I go check it out that I can still maintain this same level of excitement.  For those who haven't checked it out, get out of your box and try it.  U never kno...

  • that will be cool a remix with djhero and dlc

  • I played this game in bestbuy. it was amazing the music was great. I really want to buy one!!

  • This game has really surprised me.  Its a lot of fun once you the hang of it.  Good to hear about the DLC.

  • Staff

how on earth could having prompt DLC support be a bad thing?

  • This game looks beast node!

  • I would love to try this game, the price is just too steep for me.

  • Can we please have some N.W.A. mixes in the future the greatest rap group of all time needs some love!!! Westside!

  • Sounds awesome.

  • I haven't been super impressed with the DLC. The mixes come off as more of an abstraction, trying too hard to make mass appeal rather than being about the music, which in case people weren't aware - is what the DJ culture is ALL about.

  • looks pretty hard

  • Sparkly balls?
