“The Zelda Marathon” To Support Big Brothers Big Sisters

The Penguins in the Desert Productions team is hosting The Zelda Marathon in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters St. Catharines – Thorold & District. The event is a fundraising effort to aid in mentorship programs, future fundraising efforts and making successful matches for children in the program.

The Penguins team will play seven Zelda games for 24 hours a day until all seven are completed. The team will broadcast live from the headquarters of the Big Brothers Big Sisters branch they are supporting and will also invite children in the program to play a few hours each day.

The Zelda Marathon will begin November 27 at 6 p.m. ET. Penguins in the Desert hopes to raise $5,000 for the program and donations can be made during the event through a “Chipin” widget on the event's Web site. Not only will you support a good cause, but members of the Penguins team will commit to "punishments" after reaching certain dollar amounts. Raise $500 and the team eats a can of sardines. Raise $5,000 and one of the members waxes a Triforce symbol on his chest. Ouch.

  • thats cool.

  • Awww

  • Hmmm.

  • Cool.Wierd.Awesome.Strange. Yeah we should talk more.

  • Mod

Me thinks Black Friday is not the best date for them to have this event...

  • I want to have my own Zelda marathon.  I'm pretty sure I could beat Link to the Past in about 4 or 5 hours.

  • That is awesome. Video games+charity=perfection :)

  • That's a really cool idea. I wonder if each individual is playing the seven Zelda games, or will they be playing all seven as a team like they are in the promotional video?

Seven Zelda games might only take about 24 hours to complete... Although they mad die a lot if they play one of the first two games.

Anyways, I'll be trying to keep track of this one.

  • Thanks for all the kind words, guys.

Mike The Majora: We will be rotating through players for Ocarina, Majora's, Waker and Twlight. We have individuals who know the first 3 games very well who are going to be taking care of them! I agree, Zelda 2 is going to cause a feast of epic fails.

Anyways, thanks for taking interest. We will have more promo videos coming!

  • well this looks........ interesting...
