World Of Warcraft's Horde Finally Getting Comic Book Love

Game Informer may seem like a fun place to work. We play games, write about games, and blab about games. This is the image we project. Behind the scenes, this game-loving organization is governed by rules. To be exact, there are 1,442 rules we have to follow.

Rule 15: You will be fired if you engage in "dull" blade swordfighting.

Rule 192: The Twizzlers in the vending machine are made of poison. You will die if you eat them. Andy is the only person immune to this poison.

Rule 518: The robotic panda is not allowed in the kitchen.

Rule 874: If you say good things about World of Warcraft's Alliance, everyone on staff gets to throw a coffee mug at your face.

Let me just say this, we don't have a lot of coffee mugs left. This is a Horde office. Alliance are not welcome. On January 6, Wildstorm Comics is doing its part to win over the Horde players with a comic book series based solely around the Horde. In the first issue, the orc Malgar wages war against the Kolkar Clan, and, since he's Horde, and this is a Horde book, kicks major ass. Fans will also get their first look at a new character named Ironhoof. This monthly series is written by Doug Wagner, and features interior and cover art from Pop Mhan.

I don't play World of Warcraft, but I did notice something strange when I stumbled upon this story. This is the first issue of the Horde storyline, yet Alliance is already up to issue 26. I know numbers like this mean nothing to WoW players. Nothing to lose sleep over. Or, I dunno, start a thread about if you are an Alliance player. Just sayin'.

  • Very funny. Can someone make a blog about the other rules you guys have? They sound hilarious.

And really cool that a WoW comic book is being made. Even though I don't play WoW, still is pretty awesome.

  • Your robotic panda isn't allowed in the kitchen either? I thought that was a rule only I had...

  • Wow never thought game informer workers had rules, now I know and knowing is half the battle....Go Joe!!!!

That is sweet that World of Warcraft has a comic, I will have to check that out, as I don't have time to play the game but now I can read the comic, sweet.

  • awesome

  • Yay for nerdom

  • Orc?  They should have made the protagonist (or is it antagonist?) an undead!  They're way cooler :-P

  • Screw u all for not liking the alliance. I kick horde ass all the time and have many friends who enjoy kicking their ass.

  • Sweet

  • Cute lead but it took too long to get the story.

At least how Horde players have more fiction to read.

  • Staff

Sorry, I got carried away with the rules. :)

  • FOR THE HORDE!

  • Once upon a time ago there was a faction called the Alliance... now theres only ruins and skeletons all over the place. For The HORDE!

  • I really enjoy the comics, they offer some more insight into the lore. As for what faction. Who cares? As long as you're a Paladin, you'll always be OP. We might as well be our own faction.

  • lol nice rules, im glad theyre making a horde comic... im alliance and i have a good bit of the alliance comics, but id still like to read the horde story :)
