The lights are on
This weekend the FourZeroTwo Twitter page had good news for PC gamers: "No delay on PC for Modern Warfare 2." The tweet written by Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling also states there will be Prestige Mode and Steam support with minimum specifications to be released soon. The bad news? On a podcast released by Call of Duty fansite Bash and Slash, Bowling said matchmaking within MW2 would rely on proprietary server technology called IWNet that will not allow users to host their own dedicated servers. Mods and custom maps may be unlikely as well. As the news spread over the weekend, PC gamers have taken to forums to encourage canceling pre-orders. An online petition that has received nearly 65,000 e-signatures wants Infinity Ward to review the decision on dedicated servers. We have reached out to publisher Activision for comment and are awaiting a response.
PC gamers, what are your thoughts?
while that Sucks. I can see the problem. but they should of only relesed it then for the console. or made the game cheaper for PC.

PC gamers in my opinion have always been a little stuck up and a tad snobby. They get free map packs, cheaper games, free services, and yet, they don't get one thing that they want, and they throw a fit and sign a petition 65,000 strong, cancel pre-orders, and make a whole bunch of wild shenagins.
Spoiled little pansies I say]
Well They do pay more for the use of a computer. The problem with a computer dose not happen with consoles.
gaming started on the pc... COD was made popular by the pc. now they barely care about the pc community because the console is a much larger market. some of these comments are ridiculous because they are posted by console gamers saying "its not that bad"... you guys just dont realize how much better dedicated servers are, im 23 and ive been playing pc games online before consoles got popular and i always thought they should have dedicated servers for console games. my internet isnt great and for cod4 there was about 4 servers i could join with a good connection. it was much more of a 'community' in cod4 because i would see the same people every so often in those servers. now in mw2 i literally never get a good connection, i cant text chat between games, i cant play more than about 3 in a row before there is some kind of error with matchmaking, the list goes on... i dont mind paying $60 but thats messes up to charge $60 then take away the minor tweaks that they should have made for the pc (servers, lean around corners, console) oh and i had to find the console file in the cod directory just to enable dual video card support which was built into the menu in cod4.
i understand developers put alot of effort into this game which i appreciate, but this is just messed up... their decision to use this iwnet crap is making the game much harder to enjoy, since only about 1 out of 3 (or less) games are decent.
quote by BazzBro88-"Ohhh booo-hoo! They get games $10 cheaper, never pay for DLC(Fallout 3), get the latest graphics on their games."
ACTUALLY they started charging $10 MORE for console games, and the add-ons were free because they want people to keep playing their game/ go buy it, and we get the latest graphics because PCs have the latest graphics hardware... fast modern gaming computers will outperform consoles by far and they should considering the $1500 and up price tag... i dont build gaming computers to play a game made for the console. oh and Matthew LeTourneux the community updates are free because they were made by normal people... for fun and they decide to share their content with the world. desert combat was a free mod for battlefield 1942 and it was possible more popular than the game itself.
unfortunately i think i rambled on too long for people to actually read all the way through this post...
Uh pc grosssss
