New Ballad Of Gay Tony Video Shows Off Liberty City's Nightlife

by Jeff Marchiafava on Oct 15, 2009 at 10:17 AM

When Rockstar announced The Ballad of Gay Tony, everyone expected the game would be controversial. Today we received new information on this second expansion to GTA IV, and it’s certainly controversial – but it has nothing to do with sexual orientation.

As you can see in the new trailer below (which is a commercial for the in-game gossip show, Fizz!), The Ballad of Gay Tony focuses heavily on Liberty City’s nightclubs, and the insanity they attract. As Luis Lopez, it will be your responsibility to manage the chaos. This will include kicking out unwanted clients, babysitting spoiled movie stars, and keeping club performers happy – with drugs and booze, of course.

A new mini-game will allow Luis to impress the ladies on the dance floor; perform well enough and your dance partner will reportedly lead you to the club bathroom for sex. If you're looking for something a little more sophisticated, there’s a champagne drinking contest you can partake in. Just don’t drink too much or you’ll throw up – or black out and wake up in a strange place. It sounds like Gay Tony is going to make the hot coffee controversy seem downright tepid in comparison.

The Ballad of Gay Tony will be included in Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City, available in stores October 29th. For more information on Gay Tony, read our hands on preview here.
