Pay What You Want For World Of Goo

by Jeff Marchiafava on Oct 13, 2009 at 12:05 PM

World of Goo is now officially a one year old, and to celebrate the developers at 2D Boy are letting potential buyers choose their own price tag for the game. If you haven’t heard of it before now, World of Goo is a physics based puzzle game that tasks players with linking together goo balls into a variety of different structures to reach your goal. It’s also probably my favorite downloadable title to date, and a great example of how small independent developers still have an important role to play in our industry. Plus, unlike most games, you shouldn’t have a problem getting it to run on your PC – and they even have Mac and Linux versions too!

You can buy the game directly from 2D Boy’s website, which seems to be having some intermittent problems today – so if you’re trying to take advantage of this amazing deal, don’t give up. Just don’t make it too much of an amazing deal... game developers have to eat too. Which brings up an interesting question; the game normally sells for $20, but you can theoretically buy it for as little as a penny. So, how much do you think World of Goo is worth? Let us know what you’re willing to pay in the comments section below!
