The lights are on
EA still hasn’t announced whether or not it will bring BioWare’s space opera over to the PlayStation 3, but that doesn’t mean a PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 isn’t in the works. According to EA’s Russian website, Mass Effect 2 is listed for both Microsoft and Sony systems. This could be a typo, however, the website Just Push Start noticed that the Australian retail chain Game also has Mass Effect 2 listed for a PS3 release. Hopefully, this means that PlayStation 3 owners can look forward to taking the Normandy for a spin sometime next year. We wouldn’t want anyone to miss out on what promises to be an epic ride.
[Update] In a recent interview with Eurogamer, EA stated that these posts were, in fact, mistakes, and the PS3 tag on EA's Russian site has been removed. However, we're still willing to bet that the game will be coming to PS3 at some point. Sorry PS3 owners, we have our fingers crossed for you.

Man I hope that happens the first one was amazing.
I say "Sweet!", that is the ONLY thing I am going to miss after selling my 360. It would totally be the cherry on my cake if it came to the PS3 :D.
Not exactly sure why they would release the sequel before the original but good news none the less. :)
hope its true. if so will be super awesome.
they are saying it without saying it. Classic
I believe they have already said on an interview with IGN that Mass Effect is only for 360 and PC.
hate to burst everyone's bubble but this game will remain an Xbox 360 exclusive. i read on IGN that EA said it was a typo and that PS3 will never get Mass Effect.
Yeah, sounds great if there are any Sci-fi loving PS3 owners. If not, too bad. ^_^
Though I've been taught not to trust Russians, I've never been told not to believe them. God, I hope this happens eventually.
I don't see why not if they wish to make a success and even bigger one. I mean do you think that modern warfare would make this much money in only one system? Granted its a system seller if it were I just don't see most of the people I know buy the "other" system for just one game.
Most people i know buy one system based on how many exclusives they like from one system of the other and who do they know has that system.
with me most had xbox 360 but all got the red ring and went a ps3 after there second xbox 360 went down. Sad but true.
It makes sense to put it on the PS3. The more people able to buy a game the more money they will be able to make.
Hey it is at least 70% possible. EA owns Bioware now, which is why there was a PS3 version of Dragon Age Origins. EA is a money hungry company, and the PS3 is another way of getting money. It doesn't matter if Bioware hates the PS3(probably for some retarted reason) if EA says to bring it to the PS3 they will. You don't mess EA as shown with the closure of Pandemic and several other studios within the company. It will happen folks, so PS3 owners be prepared.
Check this, the scuttlebutt is that ME2 is gonna be on two discs. I have the 360 and PS3 as well as PC. I can run it on anything, but here is hoping they are experimenting with the solidness of a Blu-ray disc. Hell Sony has done said that they are experimenting with another type of disc that holds 6 terabytes. 6 TERABYTES! That's 6000 Gigabytes of info. Who would want to see ME(anything) on a disc like that?
>>> I hope this happens it would be nice to have another title become so versatile.
Bioware would rather just make games for PC but when they have to include a console exclusive release they go with 360, obviously, Microsoft. If you need evidence of this just look at what they did with Dragon Age: Origins. I'm willing to bet my life that Bioware would never release a sequel to an RPG on the PS3 after making the first one exclusive to PC and 360. There is absolutely no chance so just like 360 diehards have to get over the fact that SWTOR is PC only, PS3 owners have to get over this. Unless you start seeing Halo and Halo 2 ported, you will never see Mass Effect 2 on a PS3. Just be glad that Sony has a lot of good exclusives already and more to come.
You're logic is sound but you're forgetting one thing: Bioware has just as much sway as EA. I guarantee if EA even threatened to drop Bioware they would just put out an offer and have developers lining up left and right, and as money hungry as EA is, and they most definitely are, I doubt they want any unnecessary competition. EA is a juggernaut in the industry but don't forget they just publish games, Bioware has the real value, they make the games that in turn earn EA the big bucks. This is all in addition to the fact that everyone at Bioware is confident and proud of their work and would never back down to a strong-arming publisher, and if they did, I'm sure they would be divided and eventually split up, and no one would risk that.
if that was happening microsoft would be losing a huge reason to purchase an xbox
the Mass Effect series is a xbox 360 exclusive and it should stay that way. having ME on ps3 is bull****.
oh and how right they were in the end.
And it did happen. Along with the other two games as well.
