The lights are on
The Uncharted 2 demo was unleashed to the general public last week, and one thing’s for sure: The hive mind approves. In that short time period, PlayStation 3 players have accrued a variety of impressive stats. But one in particular stands alone. More than a million games played? Whatever. Nearly 2 million treasures capped? Oh, please. No, the number we can’t stop gawking at is the total time played. In just a few short days, the community has logged on 9,905 days of game time, which translates into more than 27 years worth of play. Yikes. Here are all the numbers, courtesy of the PlayStation Blog:
• Total Number of games played – 1,217,424• Total Number of Kills – 92,110,787• Total Number of Treasures Captured – 1,860,645• Total Amount of Money Earned – $38,841,367,350• Total Time Played – 9,905 days (or 27+ years!)
It’s a pretty amazing stat that speaks to just how much players are anticipating the game’s release next week. Sony says it’s on track to become the most downloaded PlayStation Network demo ever. At this rate I don't see how it couldn't, even if that Evan Wells character seems a little suspect.

I definitely can't wait to play Uncharted 2 for its single player campaign, having a good/popular online mode is an unexpected bonus!
@VenomLuv. I probably shouldn't even debble into this faboyish dribble but while 27 years might seem nice I'll just pull up a little statistic from Bungie.net : "If each game of Halo 3 lasted only three minutes and nineteen seconds, mirroring the Infection game outlined above, the total amount of time played would eclipse sixty-three centuries. For those looking for more granularity, that's roughly 630 decades, 6,300 years, or 2,300,000 days." All I have to and hate to say is suck on that. And that's a pretty big "if" so if they totatled the total time exactly it would be far more. I'm sorry I even made this post because I will sound like a faboy frothing at the mouth but hell I haven't put someone in their place today and I'll be damned if I'm not going to do it.
Matter of fact, and I'm actually beginning to enjoy this now, the exact numbers are *Drumroll* 2,023,153,340,764 seconds, that's 64,109 years if you're not inclined to go to accessories and pull up your calculator.
I believe it. This game is amzing.
(at nathan anstadt)Really? the Stats won't carry over? God, I've wasted a week of my time for a game that is awesome?
Oh well, it'll just take me three weeks to get where I am now when it comes out. After all, I haven't experienced campaign, which I know is even better than multiplayer, because they worked on it right from the beginning.
Really, Gigsworld101? Uncharted 2, in my opinion, will be better than Halo 3. The reviews already put it at 97 by MetaCritic. Halo 3 got 94, which is still good.
Also, Halo 3 has been around for, how long now? almost 2 years?. Yes, Halo 3 was a good game and still is, but Uncharted 2's Multiplayer
Beta has been around for a week.
Both numbers are impressive. But Uncharted 2 is newer, better, and (in my opinion) cooler.
@Daniel Huchaby. I'm sorry but if anyone is going to pull misinformed fanboyish dribble over their eyes and ears and consider themselves right, like VenomLuv did, I feel the need to put a sobering statistic to their eyes. And that milestone was reached about a year or a year and a half after launch which means Uncharted 2 has a long ways to go before it can defeat that green-armored juggernaut. And as stated I said I was trying not to be a fanboy but something about his wording just irked the hell out of me. I really didn't want to descend into petty arguments but that's just who I am. I'm not even that big a Halo fan to begin with, please understand. Oh, and review scores don't matter at all, what matters is what you think.
I like to believe that I contributed a fair share to that.
Game of the year, this or CoD but I'd say this would win.
These stats are amazing by any standards. I bought the full game yesterday and would have liked to play the multiplayer, but the campaign was so compelling that I could not put it down. This is until I realized I was going to be screwed today at work if I did not call it a night and turn in.
I wish this game great success! :D Although Borderlands has cut into my Uncharted multiplayer, the 5 days of grinding was awesome XD
Amazing stats and a great game! I'm playing the heck out of this, especially with the double cash weekend going on right now.
Uncharted 2's multiplayer is amazing, but to respond to some of the comments on here, I don't see it ever putting up Halo 3-caliber numbers. I own Halo 3 and PREFER Uncharted 2 online BY FAR, so I'm not biased. Realisticly, it's just not likely to happen. Uncharted 2 has a sweet single player campaign that some people will focus on exclusively while Halo 3 was primarily purchased for multiplayer gaming since that aspect of the game tends to be more respected than the campaign.
The REALLY impressive stats would be the combined numbers of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare from both consoles. I'm sure it's sequel will having some ridiculous stats in no time, as well.
Holy crap, is that even possible? Over 27 years in a week? Sheesh!
I'm seriously reconsidering my list of games to get when I get a PS3. This might hit the top now.
Legendary games get legendary figures. Look at Call of Duty's numbers...wow.
