Fallout 3 PS3 DLC And GOTY Edition Announced

by Annette Gonzalez on Sep 17, 2009 at 10:33 AM

Today Bethesda Softworks announced that “Broken Steel”, the first of multiple downloadable content packs for PS3 owners, will be available for download on Sept. 24.

“We have been working on bringing the DLC to PS3 for a while and we’re glad we can start releasing it next week,” said Pete Hines, vice president of public relations and marketing at Bethesda Softworks. “We think PS3 folks will really enjoy it. We wanted to make ‘Broken Steel’ the first one we released since it’s definitely the most popular due to the increased level cap and the fact that it removes the game’s ending.”

More DLC for the PS3 will become available the first week of Oct., which includes “Operation: Anchorage”, “The Pitt”, “Point Lookout” and “Mothership Zeta”. In addition, an update to the PS3 version was released today that includes trophy support for DLC. These Fallout 3 DLC packs had already been released on other platforms, so it looks like PS3 owners are finally getting some post-nuclear love.

Bethesda Softworks also announced the multiplatform Fallout 3 Game of the Year edition, which will be available Oct. 13. The disk will include the game and all five DLC packs. Might be time to wipe off the old Pip-Boy and re-visit the wasteland.
