Blog Herding – The Best Blogs Of The Community (February 1, 2018)

by Game Informer Editorial on Feb 01, 2018 at 01:32 PM

This week was slim, but what blogs were written were very well done! Now get reading!

Community Blogs For January 25 – January 31:

Gerardo's Backlog Update: January 2018 – Portable Gaming All Over Again
This blog from GerardoExber chronicles what he's up to in the gaming world. His theme seems to be Nintendo, but there are some platforming classics thrown in for good measure. But seriously, Mega Man ZX is so good.

My Top 10 Favorite Games of 2017
Another week, another top 10 list! This one comes from Justin Mikos, and really, it doesn't contain too many surprises – just a lot of fantastic games. And I agree with his first line about the number one game of that year for him – I just wasn't prepared for how awesome that game was.

Rekindling An Old Flame
I haven't been playing the Souls series thanks to a glitch in the first game turning me off to the whole thing. However, Brendon Curzio has been a fan of the series, and in this blog, we get some of his hopes for what will happen with the Dark Souls remaster.

Rival Schools 3
I would not call this joecrax piece a blog, but I had totally forgotten about this series until I read this headline. I would totally play another Rival Schools game.

Why I'm Concerned For BioWare
I beat the first two Dragon Age games within a week of release, interviewed David Gaider because I loved the writing, and wrote 3,000 words on how things changed based on your starting class in Dragon Age: Origins. Now I read blogs like this one from BethesdaWare, and I too wonder about what is next for BioWare. I'm not hopeful.

Community Reviews:

Celeste Review: It's Not The Destination, It's The Climb
This review from Haley Shipley dives into recent hit Celeste. Apparently, it is a very challenging game, which isn't surprising. But the fact that your character has a panic attack and calls her mother to walk her through it was unexpected. This was on my radar, and I am looking forward to playing this soon.

The Evil Within 2 Review – It's The First One, But Better
Insane_Buffoon writes us a short but sweet review if you're looking to find out if you should jump into this horror game.

I hope you enjoy the blogs! Please contact me via my Game Informer page or on Twitter at @LouisGarcia12 with any blog news or playdate suggestions.
