Replay – The Atari 2600 Spectacular

by Kyle Hilliard on Oct 06, 2017 at 08:00 PM

The Atari 2600 originally launched in 1977 and didn't officially call it quits until 1992. During that 15 year period, a ton of games released for the system, and today we played a small fraction of them.

In lieu of focusing entirely on the classics (don't worry, we still play some of them) we decided to use our Atari Flashback 8 Gold plug-and-play system to randomly choose whatever we thought looked interesting. Over the course of the episode, Andrew Reiner, Jeff Cork, and I spend time with about 20 Atari 2600 games. Some we enjoyed more than others. We also discovered that Jeff Cork may be the most talented Atari pinball player on the planet.

Note: if some of the stellar, Atari 2600 soundtracks and effects seem off, Leo Vader assures me it is something I did, and I apologize for that.
