Test Chamber – Trials Of The Blood Dragon
In one of the more absurd and amusing moments of Ubisoft’s Monday E3 press conference, the team leads for the original Blood Dragon and the Trials games joined forces on stage in a show of bravado and humor, all in the name of announcing their joint new game – Trials of the Blood Dragon. Gamers didn’t have long to wait before getting an opportunity to check out the insanity; the game became available for purchase immediately following the event.
Kyle Hilliard and I sat down to check out some of the early missions of the new game, and even after driving through a few missions, it’s clear that the project is something different and surprising. The core gameplay of the Trials franchise is in place, but expanded with new vehicles and styles of play. Meanwhile, the infusion of Blood Dragon storytelling and humor lends a deeper narrative hook, along with a heaping spoonful of 80s nostalgia.
