Rounding Up Sony's PlayStation Experience Indie Announcements And Trailers

Sony had a number of indie game announcements during its PlayStation Experience press conference today, and we've rounded them up in one place.

Indie, or course, does not necessarily always imply the literal translation of the word, but rather defines a smaller, more artistic game made by a small group of creators. Here's what was featured during Sony's press conference today.

Brutal

With an art direction inspired by ASCII art, Brutal really has an aesthetic all its own.

Day of the Tentacle

The classic LucasArts point-and-click adventure game is making its triumphant return on PlayStation 4.

Dead Star

Sony showed off a new mode for the overhead space shooter during its press conference.

Hob

The makers of Torchlight comes a world full of puzzles and action.

The Tomorrow Children

Q-Games, known for hte Pixel Junk series, announced a closed beta for January with a new trailer.

Zodiac: Orcanon Odyssey

A Final Fantasy writer and composer have come together for this game that borrows mechanics from games like Final Fantasy, Valkyrie Profile, and Dragon's Crown.

Adult Swim Games
Known predominantly for late night animated television on Cartoon Network, Adult Swim has been dabbling in the games publishing business for years, but it is expanding to bring a number of games to PlayStation 4. Below are a handful of indie games heading to Sony's console care of Adult Swim.

Death's Gambit

The game appears to take inspiration from games like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

Ray's the Dead

Developer Ragtag Studio defines Ray's the Dead as a, "story driven action-stealth-puzzler."

Duck Game

A pixelated platformer that looks like it shares an absurd aesthetic with #IDARB.

Rain World

A platformer in a strange, imposing world that recalls the excellect Ori and the Blind Forest.

Small Radios Big Televisions

A puzzle game, though it's unclear exactly how its mechanics work.

Headlander

The next game from Double Fine, the creators of Psychonauts and Broken Age, Headlander stars an astronaut who can remove his head to take control of robots.
