Question Of The Month: Who Is The Best Giant Monster In Video Games?
In issue 269, we asked readers who their favorite giant monster in a video game is. Ganon, The Great Mighty Poo, and one of the titular beasts in Shadow of the Colossus were among our readers' favorites, but now it's your time to chime in. My vote would be for none other than Super Metroid's Mother Brain. Not only did her giant T-Rex-like body freak me out when I was a kid, but I didn't realize her super-powered attack was scripted – I thought I had totally wrecked me when I faced off against her, making the ensuing intervention of baby metroid all the more powerful. Mother Brain was the most epic boss battle I encountered as a young kid, and the nostalgia I have for the game still lands her at the top of my list.
