Chronicles – Resuming A Completionist's Run In Just Cause 2

by Andrew Reiner on Jul 10, 2014 at 03:32 PM

When I play an open world game, I usually don't stop until I reach 100 percent completion. I've achieved this mark in every Grand Theft Auto and Elder Scrolls game, and I even spent far too much time snatching up every collectible in Sleeping Dogs and Saints Row 3. Just Cause 2 is one of those games that scratches the completionist itch. The world is littered with objectives, collectibles, and most progress comes from veering off of the beaten path to explore.

A few years ago, I blogged about my progress in this game. I had only completed nine percent of it at the time, and I haven't made much progress since then. Most games I shelve are lost forever, and I don't give them much thought. For some reason, Just Cause 2 stuck with me. Over the last three years, I've often thought about going back to it.

With few games coming out in July, I figured now is one of the best opportunities I'll have to travel back to this open world. It's also a perfect fit for Game Informer's new video series, Chronicles, which gives us a chance to tell our gaming stories. Join us for a look at my playthrough to see if Just Cause 2 still holds up today. If I decide to stick with it, I'll return with another episode showing my progress.
