The Giant E3 2014 Games List

by Matt Miller on Jun 04, 2014 at 11:25 AM

2014 promises to be an important year for E3, and by extension a big year for video games. Publishers and developers have new consoles on which to showcase their wares, even as the PC market continues to expand in new directions, especially for indie developers. We expect to see some big surprises at this year's show, but in the meantime, we've compiled an exhaustive look at the titles that should be coming to E3.

If a publisher has confirmed for us that the game will be at E3 in some form, you'll see the word "Confirmed" by the name. All other titles are expected or rumored to be at the show, but without direct confirmation from the game makers.

Abyss Odyssey (Confirmed)
Platform: TBA
Publisher: Atlus
Developer: ACE Team

The makers of Zeno Clash and Rock of Ages try their hands at a new franchise. What We'd Like To See: ACE Team has proven itself capable of original and intriguing ideas, so we're eager to see what Abyss Odyssey is all about. We're also interested to see where the game fits in the space between platformers, 2D combat, and roguelikes.

Alien: Isolation (Confirmed)
Platform: PS4, Xbox One, PS3, 360, PC
Publisher: Sega
Developer: The Creative Assembly

The experienced team at The Creative Assembly revitalizes horror by returning to the classic sci-fi series. What We'd Like To See: Early demos have convinced us of how scary the game can be, but we'd love E3 to offer detail into the potential crafting options, as well as a look at combat against non-alien enemies.

Assassin's Creed Unity (Confirmed)
Platform: PS4, Xbox One, PC
Publisher: Ubisoft
Developer: Ubisoft Montreal

The wildly popular time-traveling stealth action game moves to the new setting of Paris for an adventure through the French Revolution. What We'd Like To See: Fans are hungry for some changes in the AC formula, so we hope Ubisoft is ready to roll out its vision for what new-gen tech can do for the franchise, both in the campaign and the multiplayer experience.

Batman: Arkham Knight (Confirmed)
Platform: PS4, Xbox One, PC
Publisher: Warner Bros. Interactive
Developer: Rocksteady Studios

The original developer of the Arkham series returns, and brings the Batmobile along for the ride. What We'd Like To See: Early glimpses of the game showed off how pretty new-gen Batman can look, but we're ready to get some hands-on with combat and driving.

Battlecry (Confirmed)
Platform: PC
Publisher: Bethesda Softworks
Developer: Battlecry Studios

Free-to-play 32-player brawling unfolds in an alternate history where gunpowder has been outlawed. What We'd Like To See: Battlecry was a recent and surprising announcement from Bethesda, but the newly formed BattleCry Studios has some industry veterans steering the ship. We're eager to see how Bethesda approaches the free-to-play model.

Battlefield: Hardline (Confirmed)
Platform: PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, PC
Publisher: EA Games
Developer: Visceral Games

Breaking away from the traditional military combat, Hardline focuses on a Miami police office caught in the web of dirty cops. What We'd Like To See: Visceral Games is best known for it's work on the Dead Space series, so it will be interesting to see how it tackles a game set in the real world and not full of space zombies. We hope to see more than just action, but a good story, which sounds like a nice break from the standard military shooters.

Below
Platform: Xbox One, PC
Publisher: Capy
Developer: Capy

Capy Games has been on a streak of excellent indie releases, and there's no reason to believe that the studio's take on fantasy roguelikes would break that flow of quality. What We'd Like To See: More details on crafting would be great to show off the game's depth, and we want to see how the game handles boss encounters.

BigFest (Confirmed)
Platform: Vita
Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment
Developer: On the Metal

Build, maintain, and run your own music festival in this highly customizable simulation. What We'd Like To See: This project sounds like a great new addition to the Vita library. We're especially interested in seeing how the game handles managing dramatically different musical acts, from rock to hip hop.

Binding of Isaac: Rebirth (Confirmed)
Platform: PS4, Vita, PC
Publisher: TBA
Developer: Nicalis, Edmund McMillen

A new 16-bit take on the original flash game that comes with a host of new features. What We'd Like To See: The original Binding of Isaac was a clever and inventive experience. An E3 showing of the game should focus on why it might be worth a return trip, even if a player has already played the original game.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel (Confirmed)
Platform: PS3, 360, PC
Publisher: 2K Games
Developer: 2K Australia/Gearbox Software

Borderlands travels to the moon for its latest zany FPS adventure, exclusively being built for last-gen systems. What We'd Like To See: 2K Australia is taking lead on this game, so E3 is its opportunity to prove that the action, shooting, and humor that characterizes the Gearbox entries can carry over.

Broforce (Confirmed)
Platform: PC, Unannounced Consoles
Publisher: Free Lives Games
Developer: Free Lives Games

An over-the-top homage to classic action movies, Broforce is a machismo-laden blast of shooting insanity. What We'd Like To See: One of the best things about Broforce is the cast of crazy characters. We hope Free Lives Games has some more movie-inspired heroes to check out, as well as some new levels of patriotic bad guy blasting.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (Confirmed)
Platform: PS4, Xbox One, PS3, 360, PC
Publisher: Activision
Developer: Sledgehammer Games

Sledgehammer debuts its vision for a Call of Duty set in a researched technological vision of the future. What We'd Like To See: Our recent cover story pulled the curtain back on the single-player campaign, so E3 would be an ideal time to see how the all-important multiplayer component is changing.

Chariot
Platform:  PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, PC
Publisher: Frima Studios
Developer: Frima Studios

Couch co-op enthusiasts should delight to this platformer in which two characters must work together to move a rolling chariot across the level. What We'd Like To See: Chariot hasn't had much public exposure yet, but early glimpses of the indie title have been very positive. E3 offers an opportunity for Frima to expose the game to a larger audience.

Chasm (Confirmed)
Platform:  PS4
Publisher: Discord Games
Developer: Discord Games

Another Kickstarter success story, Chasm is a pixelated 2D platformer starring a soldier who abandons his post to revisit his home after he receives a cryptic letter. Inspired by games like Castlevania, Zelda, Dark Souls, Shadow of the Colossus, and Spelunky, Chasm looks like it could appeal to fans of hardcore platforming experiences. What We'd Like To See: Fully realizing an ambitious Kickstarter project is tricky, so our best hope for Chasm is to see that it is making steady progress, particularly with the procedural level design concept. We'd also like to play more of the game and see how the platforming gameplay feels.

Citizens of Earth (Confirmed)
Platform: PS4, Wii U, Vita, 3DS, PC
Publisher: Atlus
Developer: Eden Industries

This bizarre curveball from Atlus casts players as the Vice President of the United States as he builds an RPG party of every day normal people. What We’d Like To See: What we’ve seen of the game delivers an EarthBound-like quality. We want to see if this is truly the case.

Civilization: Beyond Earth (Confirmed)
Platform: PC
Publisher: 2K Games
Developer: Firaxis

The beloved strategy developer brings its Civilization franchise beyond the confines of Earth for an adventure on other planets. What We'd Like To See: We'd appreciate an opportunity to learn more about how the different terrains and planet types will affect gameplay, and also get a deeper understanding of the Tech Web upgrade system - a core feature that will make a big difference to how the final game plays.

Costume Quest 2
Platform: TBA
Publisher: Double Fine
Developer: Double Fine

The unusual twist on classic role-playing gets a new entry – Double Fine's first sequel – that is unsurprisingly targeting a Halloween release. What We'd Like To See: The first game was heavy on charm, but the gameplay and combat got a little repetitive. We hope to see the sequel offer some added depth to its core mechanics to go alongside the amusing premise.

Counterspy
Platform: PS4, PS3, Vita, iOS, Android
Publisher: Dynamighty
Developer: Dynamighty

Taking place during the Cold War, Counterspy is a stealthy, 2D cover-based shooter with a distinct art style. What We’d Like To See: After missing its 2013 window, we’re curious to see the current state of the game and spend some hands-on time with it.

The Crew (Confirmed)
Platform:  PS4, Xbox One, PC
Publisher: Ubisoft
Developer: Ivory Tower, Ubisoft Reflections

Ubisoft attempts to combine classic racing with a persistent open world that allows racers to drive across a virtual version of the United States. What We'd Like To See: Hands-on time with The Crew at last year's E3 left a bad taste in some players' mouths, thanks to some iffy technology and imprecise car control. The Crew needs to prove itself to the gaming community with a strong presentation at E3, as well as provide additional details on what sets the game apart from other racers.

Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair
Platform:  Vita
Publisher: NIS America
Developer: Spike Chunsoft

The visual novel mystery series gets a new installment, continuing the niche game's attempt to bring this unusual style to the United States. What We'd Like To See: We hope that this year's E3 gives us a close look at several of the cast members, all of whom are said to be new for this entry.

Darkest Dungeon
Platform: PC
Publisher: Red Hook
Developer: Red Hook

Delve deep into the dungeon while managing the growing fears and insanities of your characters. What We’d Like To See: The intense and frightening scenarios of Darkest Dungeon in early demos have been immersive and exciting. We hope Darkest Dungeon gets some big attention at this year’s show by revealing some new twists on the gameplay survival formula.

Deep Down
Format:  PlayStation 4
Publisher: Capcom
Developer: Capcom Online Games/SCE Japan Studio

This mysterious dungeon crawler sees players living in a future version of New York City, but by touching magic artifacts, they're transported to ancient dungeons. What We'd Like To See: Many questions remain unanswered about Deep Down. We'll be happy to get any sort of deeper understanding of the gameplay behind this strange premise.

Defense Grid 2
Platform: PS4, Xbox One, PC
Publisher: 505 Games
Developer: Hidden Path Entertainment

The excellent sci-fi tower defense game gets a sequel thanks to the help of crowd funding. What We'd Like To See: We' want to get a closer look at the promised cooperative and competitive game modes that are being added in this new iteration.

Destiny (Confirmed)
Platform:  PS4, Xbox One, PS3, 360
Publisher: Activision
Developer: Bungie

The makers of the first several Halo games bring their new vision of a shared open world shooter to life. What We'd Like To See: Destiny has given us a couple of glimpses of cooperative gameplay, but it's time for some more looks at other planets beyond Earth, as well as some hands-on time with competitive multiplayer.

Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten
Platform: Vita
Publisher: NIS America
Developer: Nippon Ichi Software

Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten released on PlayStation 3 in 2011, and for its Vita re-release, it will include all that game’s DLC as well as some extra content. What We’d Like To See: The port appears to be pretty straightforward, but we are curious to see what this unrevealed extra content is.

Disney Infinity – Marvel Super Heroes (Confirmed)
Platform: PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, PS3, 360, PC, iOS
Publisher: Disney Interactive Studios
Developer: Avalanche Software

After the huge success of Disney Infinity, seeing a sequel announced was no surprise, but seeing its cast was at least a little surprising. Starring Marvel heroes this time around, expect the same open creativity of the previous game, but with a superhero touch. What We’d Like To See: A lot of figures have been revealed – mostly characters from The Avengers and Spider-Man – but we would like to see more obscure Marvel heroes appear as figures. We also want to know what gameplay elements will set it apart from the previous Infinity game, and how new-gen technology is being utilized.

The Division
Platform: PS4, Xbox One, PC
Publisher: Ubisoft
Developer: Massive Entertainment

An online, open-world RPG that follows a specialist team tasked with restoring order to New York City after it is devastated by disease. What We'd Like to See: The video shown at last year's E3 looked too good to be true, much like Watch Dogs from the previous year. If that video didn't show actual gameplay like Watch Dogs did, Ubisoft needs to come clean and give us an honest look at the game.

Dragon Age: Inquisition
Platform: PS4, Xbox One, PS3, 360, PC
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Developer: BioWare

Return to the world of Thedas for a new-gen role-playing fantasy adventure. What We'd Like To See: Dragon Age 2 left a bad taste in many gamers' mouths because of change-ups in combat, repeated dungeon designs, and some overall story decisions. This E3 is BioWare's opportunity to prove that Inquisition is moving in a positive direction with some hands-on time showing off combat and exploration.

Driveclub (Confirmed)
Platform: PS4
Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment
Developer: Evolution Studios

Sony makes its case for what the PS4 can do for driving games. What We'd Like To See: Hands-on time needs to prove that this new racing franchise is responsive and exciting, and Evolution Studios also needs to find ways to capitalize on the new-gen technology to show why Driveclub is different from other racing titles.

Dying Light (Confirmed)
Platform: PS4, Xbox One, PS3, 360, PC
Publisher: Warner Bros. Interactive
Developer: Techland

Techland brings us another zombie-themed project, where players free-run through a dangerous landscape of undead, scavenging as they go. What We'd Like To See: Our early glimpses of Dying Light have mostly been heavily scripted and/or guided experiences, so we want a chance to wander freely and explore. In addition, more details on weapon crafting and cooperative multiplayer would be welcome.

Dynasty Warriors Gundam Reborn (Confirmed)
Platform: PS3
Publisher: Bandai Namco Games
Developer: Koei, Omega Force

Gundam has been applied to the Dynasty Warriors formula before to great success, but it has been a while. Reborn adds more than 100 new units, as well as new gameplay and the ability to return to space. What We’d Like To See: The game doesn’t look drastically different from previous entries in the series, but we would love to be surprised by a new-gen version announcement.

EA Sports UFC
Platform:  PS 4, Xbox One
Publisher: EA Sports
Developer: EA Canada

Electronic Arts attempts to put its best kick forward for its debut of the official UFC brand. What We'd Like To See: Before its closure, THQ held the UFC license. This debut is EA's chance to prove it's ready to make a faithful adaptation of the license, even though it previously made an MMA game. Many players are likely to make decisions on that point based on what they play at E3. In particular, developers have struggled with making the ground-based grappling gameplay feel strong, and we hope that feature is highlighted at the show.

Elite Dangerous
Platform: PC
Publisher: Frontier Developments
Developer: Frontier Developments

Fight and trade your way across the space lanes in this revival of the fondly remembered outer space franchise. What We'd Like To See: While they're certainly fundamentally different games at heart, many players are likely to be comparing Elite: Dangerous to the forthcoming Star Citizen. Frontier needs to find ways to distinguish itself from the competition with any presentations or demos it shows at E3.

The Evil Within (Confirmed)
Platform: PS4, Xbox One, PS3, 360, PC
Publisher: Bethesda Softworks
Developer: Tango Gameworks

Japan-based Tango Gameworks hopes to re-ignite the fire that Resident Evil started so long ago, with founder Shinji Mikami leading the way. What We'd Like To See: Modern horror games must struggle between two extremes, with carefully paced and deliberate scares at one end and high-intensity action at the other. A couple of recent glimpses have us worried that things are teetering too far toward the action side of things; we hope E3 can prove us wrong with some genuine horror.

Evolve (Confirmed)
Platform: PS4, Xbox One, PC
Publisher: 2K Games
Developer: Turtle Rock Studios

Turtle Rock hopes to find a new magic formula for enthralling new-gen multiplayer with its four-versus-one experience, pitting four human hunters against an increasingly dangerous beast. What We'd Like To See: More details on the hunters themselves would be welcome, but of course the big draw would be the chance to see a new monster, along with its many evolutions.

Fable Legends
Platform: Xbox One
Publisher: Microsoft Studios
Developer: Lionhead Studios

The Fable universe goes multiplayer with this mostly cooperative dungeon crawler, in which four players are heroes while a fifth controls the monsters, traps, and dungeons, much like a D&D dungeon master. What We'd Like To See: It's fair to say that many are skeptical of Lionhead's move from a single-player action/RPG to a multiplayer dungeon crawler. This year's E3 needs to prove that Lionhead can remain faithful to the distinct tone of a Fable game while shifting toward a new gameplay scheme. Hands-on with a full multiplayer section of the game would be welcome.

Fairy Fencer F
Platform: PS3
Publisher: NIS America
Developer: Compile Heart

A new Japanese RPG includes concept art from Amano and music from Uematsu from the team that created Hyperdimension Neptunia. What We'd Like To See: The core combat system of Hyperdimension Neptunia was a little rough around the edges, so we'd like to see Compile Heart make some strides in providing a clear and accessible approach to battles.

Fantasia: Music Evolved (Confirmed)
Platform: Xbox One, 360
Publisher: Disney Interactive Studios
Developer: Harmonix

The premier studio for music games crafts an interactive sequel to the Disney animation classic. What We'd Like To See: The loss of a mandatory Kinect system on Xbox One is a painful one for the prospects of Fantasia. Nonetheless, the game is still on track for release, and its quality will have nothing to do with how many Kinects are out there. E3 is an opportunity to let players experience the game for themselves; in our experience, it's hard to grasp what is fun about the game until you play it yourself.

Far Cry 4 (Confirmed)
Platform: PS4, Xbox One, PS3, 360, PC
Publisher: Ubisoft
Developer: Ubisoft Montreal

A new entry in the first person shooter series sees yet another new locale – this time an exploration of the Himalayan Mountains. What We'd Like To See: Though it was only recently revealed, we hope that E3 offers an extended look at the mountainous game world. Far Cry 3 was a lot of fun, but we hope Ubisoft has some gameplay ideas in mind of how to set this new installment apart above and beyond a new setting.

Fenix Rage (Confirmed)
Platform: PS4, Xbox One, PC
Publisher: Reverb Triple XP
Developer: Green Lava Studios

Blazingly challenging platform gameplay seems to be channeling an aesthetic like Super Meat Boy. What We’d Like To See: Early trailers make the game look challenging and exciting – we hope to get some hands-on time to verify our suspicions.

FIFA 15
Platform: PS4, Xbox One, PC
Publisher: EA Sports
Developer: EA Canada

The long-running soccer franchise aims for the goal of big improvements on new-gen consoles. What We'd Like To See: With a full year under their belts with new consoles, we hope that E3 affords EA developers a chance to reveal how they've fixed many of the franchise's legacy problems. In particular, correctly identifying who gets the ball, improving headers, and the dominance of the pace skill in online matches are all areas in which we'd like to see some growth.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (Confirmed)
Platform: PS4, PS3, PC
Publisher: Square Enix
Developer: Square Enix

The recently released MMO returns to E3 following some big improvements that coincided with the console launch. What We'd Like To See: Square Enix made some big improvements to its MMO before re-releasing on console and PC last year. The game's confirmed presence at E3 seems to indicate that Square Enix has some new content to show off. Whatever that content might be, the developer needs to straddle the line between inviting in new players and offering something substantial to the existing player base.

Final Fantasy XV
Platform: PS4, Xbox One
Publisher: Square Enix
Developer: Square Enix

Last year we saw an exciting teaser trailer with impressive action that wouldn’t look out of place in a movie like Inception. Much of Final Fantasy XV is still a mystery, but Square Enix says it will offer a departure from the traditional Final Fantasy mechanics and gameplay we’ve come to appreciate. What We’d Like To See: The list of things we want from Final Fantasy XV is long: We want to know story details, we want to know more about the characters, we want to see how it departs from previous Final Fantasies, we want to play the game, we want to confirm its existence, and we would like to know when it will release.

Forza Horizon 2
Platform: Xbox One, 360
Publisher: Microsoft Studios
Developer: Playground Games/Sumo Digital

Another installment of the Forza splinter series returns with more high octane open world racing including weather systems, Forza 5's Drivatar, and more new cars. What We'd Like To See: We're excited to see Horizon 2's southern Europe settings, and we hope Microsoft speaks to whether single- and multiplayer modes will be split again or integrated together like a lot of competing open world racers.

Freedom Wars (Confirmed)
Platform: Vita
Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment
Developer: SCE Japan Studio/Shift/Dimps

This Japanese import battle action game allows for both cooperative and competitive play for up to eight players. What We'd Like To See: This title has gotten little to no press here in North America, so our desires are simple – convince us this is a game that makes it worth picking our Vitas back up.

Galak-Z: The Dimensional
Platform: PS4, Vita, PC
Publisher: 17-Bit
Developer: 17-Bit

Classic space anime meets roguelike exploration in this visually arresting outer space shooter. What We'd Like To See: We're already enthusiastic about the gameplay in Galak-Z based on early hands-on experiences we've had. We'd like E3 to shed some new light on the fiction and story of this sci-fi universe.

Game of Thrones
Platform: PC
Publisher: Telltale Games
Developer: Telltale Games

At the end of last year, Telltale announce that it would release an adventure game based on the hottest fantasy franchise on the market right now. What We'd Like To See: We've always loved Telltale's stories, and Games of Thrones is a great yarn, so this seems like a good fit, but we'd love to see the game steer away from Telltale's cel shaded graphics.

Gauntlet (Confirmed)
Platform: PC
Publisher:  Warner Bros. Interactive
Developer: Arrowhead Studios

Return to the roots of the video game dungeon crawler with a new entry in the cooperative hack and slash franchise. What We'd Like To See: Arrowhead is a studio with a strong eye for cooperative play. We want to play a demo that carries the nostalgia of the original series, but with enough depth to compete with modern-day rivals.

Gears of War
Platform: Xbox One
Publisher: Microsoft Studios
Developer: Black Tusk Studios

Under the guidance of series vet Rod Fergusson, a new studio tries its hand at the world of Marcus Fenix and his Locust Horde enemies. What We'd Like To See: We know that Black Tusk is working on a new installment, but that's about it. Any glimpse of the game would be a welcome step forward.

Grey Goo
Platform: PC
Publisher: Grey Box
Developer: Petroglyph

A new RTS franchise focuses on managing forces and tactics instead of micro level control, all set in a futuristic world. What We'd Like To See: New RTS series? That's a tough nut to crack. However, the development team includes veterans of Westwood Studios, who helped found the genre. If Grey Goo shows up at E3, we anticipate seeing the ways that it aims to stand apart from the long-established conventions of the genre.

Grid: Autosport (Confirmed)
Platform: PS3, 360, PC
Publisher: Bandai Namco Games
Developer: Codemasters

The strong racing series returns to where it started for a game squarely focused on the driving. What We'd Like To See: The developer has claimed a return to the roots of the franchise, and the removal of extraneous elements. For our part, we need to see that Grid's current-gen racing can compete with some of its new-gen alternatives. E3 is only a couple of weeks before release for the new Grid, so whatever the developer shows should be representative of the final product.

Halo 5: Guardians
Platform: Xbox One
Publisher: Microsoft Studios
Developer: 343 Industries

Master Chief's Reclaimer Saga continues with a debut entry on Microsoft's new console. What We'd Like To See: With a release set for some time in 2015, it wouldn't be wise to expect too many big reveals at this year's show. However, we're hopeful that Guardians is shown in some form (likely a trailer) and that we get a little more insight into the seemingly new character pictured in the initial art reveal.

Hatsune Miku - Project DIVA - F 2nd (Confirmed)
Platform: PS3, Vita
Publisher: Sega
Developer: Sega

The Japanese music game phenomenon once again attempts to gain steam in the west. What We'd Like To See: Honestly, a new game name for North American audiences wouldn't be out of order. Hatsune Miku may be a household name in Japan, but a name like this can't help but scare away potential newcomers. However, given that a new name likely isn't possible, E3 would be a good time to try and showcase how accessible the music gameplay of the series can be.

Helldivers (Confirmed)
Platform: PS4, PS3, Vita
Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment
Developer: Arrowhead Game Studios

Frantic cooperative sci-fi shooting sends you hurtling down onto a planet to take out aliens (or accidentally kill your buddies). What We'd Like To See: Helldivers has gotten our attention with its desperate Left 4 Dead-style cooperative craziness. E3 would be a great time to offer more details about the promised long-term campaigns that change the galaxy as battles are won or lost by the entire player community, as well as new details on some of the other unrevealed alien races.

Hellraid
Platform: TBA
Publisher: Techland
Developer: Techland

Hellraid is an upcoming video game in development by Techland and the follow up to Dead Island. What We'd Like To See: We're hoping to get our hands on the game and see some of the open world improvements.

Hex: Shards of Fate (Confirmed)
Platform: PC, iOS, Android
Publisher: Cryptozoic
Developer: Cryptozoic

Kickstarted to life, Hex: Shards of Fate jumps in on the increasingly popular digital collectable card game movement to offer a new experience. What We'd Like To See: We're hoping to get our hands on the game's PVE implementation and check out some of the promised dungeons and raids.

Homefront: Revolution (Confirmed)
Platform: PS4, Xbox One, PC
Publisher: Deep Silver
Developer: Crytek

Return to a bleak vision of the future where the United States has been overcome by a united Korea. What We'd Like To See: New developer Crytek has the FPS instincts to take this franchise to the next level. We hope its E3 showing offers a visually memorable demo that reminds people why Crytek's games were the benchmark of tech for years.

Hohokum (Confirmed)
Platform: PS4, PS3, Vita
Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment
Developer: Honeyslug, SCE Santa Monica Studio

Hohokum provides a playful journey of discovery fueled by music and artistic visuals. What We'd Like To See: If release announcements are to be believed, we're very close to a final release of Hohokum. This E3 offers one final chance for Sony to show off the whimsical project, perhaps with the reveal of one more as-yet undetailed level.

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number (Confirmed)
Platform: PS4, PS3, Vita, PC
Publisher: Devolver Digital
Developer: Dennaton Games

Take a return trip to neon-drenched Miami for another serving of violence and murder. What We'd Like To See: Hotline Miami 2 sounds like its playing around with some fascinating approaches to perspective, with gameplay that is completely different based on who you're controlling. We'd love to see more of these two threads in action, as well as how they interact with one another, if at all.

Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age
Platform: PC
Publisher: Crytek
Developer: Crytek

This free-to-play cooperative game has players hunting monters in the 19th century, as imagined by many of the ex-creators of Darksiders. What We’d Like To See: We’re always a little wary of free-to-play titles until we hear more about how the game will be monetized, but this project sounds like a really neat idea, especially given the creative talent attached.

Hyrule Warriors
Platform: Wii U
Publisher: Nintendo/Tecmo Koei
Developer: Omega Force/Team Ninja

Dynasty Warriors collides with The Legend of Zelda in this hack-and-slash action game. What We'd Like To See: We're skeptical of the core concept of Hyrule Warriors, but we hope E3 gives us the chance to play some of this odd mash-up, and that it turns out to be a worthy entry in the Zelda fiction.

Juju (Confirmed)
Platform: TBA
Publisher: Flying Wild Hog
Developer: Flying Wild Hog

Control a shamanistic pink panda and his lizard buddy in this cooperative platforming adventure. What We'd Like To See: This new platformer looks like a clever mix of colorful visuals and hardcore challenge. We're hoping to play a little bit and see if the movement and jumping mechanics feel as good as we hope.

Kingdom Come Deliverance
Platform: PS4, Xbox One, PC
Publisher: Warhorse Studios
Developer: Warhorse Studios

Explore a realistic vision of 15th century Europe in this historical RPG. What We'd Like To See: A highly successful Kickstarter project saw some big funds helping push Kingdom Come Deliverance into existence. E3 would be a great time for Warhorse to show off what all those funds have created so far with a demo of the game in action.

Kingdom Hearts 2.5 ReMix (Confirmed)
Platform: PS3
Publisher: Square Enix
Developer: Square Enix

Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep Final Mix, and a cinematic retelling of Kingdom Hearts Re:coded all are on the menu for this HD remake. What We'd Like To See: We hope to see more of the gorgeous new visuals in motion, but we're also eager to see if 2.5 Remix will include any new hints or nods to the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3.

Kingdom Hearts III
Platform: PS4, Xbox One
Publisher: Square Enix
Developer: Square Enix

The anticipated sequel to the Disney/Square mash-up series is coming to new-gen consoles. What We'd Like To See: We're hesitant to get our hopes up too much about how much of this title (if anything) will be shown, but if it does arrive at the show, it would be great to see some live gameplay instead of just another trailer.

The Last Guardian
Platform: PS3?
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Sony

Team Ico's follow up to Ico and Shadow of the Colossus is a fantastical looking game about a boy and his monster. What We'd Like To See: We'll be happy if Sony finally shows off the game again. It's been a long wait for this title, and it's delays have continued to worry us.The title has probably moved over to PS4 development. Could this be the year that Sony's shows it off again?

The Legend of Zelda Wii U
Platform: Wii U
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Nintendo

Link and Zelda get a new adventure on Nintendo's home console. What We'd Like To See: Frankly, we'll be happy if Nintendo just confirms the game. Zelda producer Aunuma stated in 2013 that we could expect word on an HD Zelda at E3, and we're hoping it wasn't a fib.

Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (Confirmed)
Platform: PS4, Xbox One, PS3, 360, Vita, 3DS, iOS, PC

Teased prior to E3 with an impressive trailer pitting Sub-Zero against Scorpion, this is the first Mortal Kombat releasing for new-gen consoles. In the teaser, we saw the environment used for combat, and close-ups of bones being broken. What We'd Like To See: Simply put? Gameplay. Mortal Kombat X put on a fancy show with its pre-rendered visuals and hip-hop soundtrack, but we want to see if the game can actually live up to those visuals.

N++ (Confirmed)
Platform: PS4
Publisher: Metanet Software
Developer: Metanet Software

The N+ series is a favorite among fans of challenging platformers. The next entry, N++, overhauls the visuals for the PlayStation 4, and adds all kinds of new levels and content. What We'd Like To See: The N+ series is predictable – not that that's a bad thing. We don't expect to be surprised, but we are excited to see a gorgeous version of the game running at the best framerate it can muster.

Previously released in Japan, NIS America is brining the strategy RPG over to North America. Players can play the game across all formats and share save files. What We'd Like To See: What has been shown of the game has not done a great job depicting how the combat will work, or painting a clear picture of the story. It just allows us to hit a whole new bar of realism." What We'd Like To See: E3 will offer the first opportunity to hear new commentators Mike "Doc" Emrick and Eddie Olczyk narrate the game. Fans (and ourselves) have been asking for this for a long time, so we're looking forward to seeing if our request have been substantiated.

Nidhogg (Confirmed)
Platform: PS4
Publisher: Messhof
Developer: Messhof

Previously released on PC, Nidhogg exists in a strange overlap of platformers, action, fighting, and racing games. It offered some great multiplayer experiences on PC, and now its getting translated to PlayStation 4. What We'd Like To See: Nidhogg has a great, intense mechanic, but it was light on content. There wasn't much of a reason to keep playing without friends. For the PlayStation 4 release, we're hoping to see more levels, and maybe more single-player content. Pending that, it will be nice to have an excuse to play with some live humans on the E3 show floor.

Developer: Ready at Dawn

One of the PlayStation 4's grandest exclusives, The Order is an alternate history retelling based loosely in King Arthur legend. We featured the game on our cover recently, detailing  the story, characters, and gameplay. What We'd Like To See: We've seen CGI trailers and gameplay footage, so the big thing we want now is to get our hands on the game. Platform: Vita
Publisher: Atlus
Developer: Dingo Inc.

Dancing All Night takes Persona's always excellent soundtrack and places it into a rhythm music game for the Vita. The game has a story conceit taking place after Persona 4, so technically it's a sequel. What We'd Like To See: Rhythm games live and die by their timing mechanics and soundtrack. The latter we're pretty sure of, but the former is still mostly a mystery. We're excited to learn if the game offers a worthwhile addition to the Persona series, or forgettable rhythm game with a Persona skin. Playing the game should give us a good idea of its quality.

Persona 5
Platform: PS3
Publisher: Atlus
Developer: Atlus

A sequel to Persona 4, Persona 5 continues using the school setting as previous entries. We'd Like To See: Pretty much anything. A picture of the presumed new cast, a trailer – we'd even be happy with an animated GIF. We'd also like to see it announced for PlayStation 4.

We're hoping they are enhanced ports sharing the same technology (mainly the visuals) used in the Pokémon X and Y titles.

It's time for Nintendo to give us a glimpse of the game in action, and reveal how the two worlds are colliding.

The studio behind Xenoblade Chronociles and the Xenosaga series returns with an RPG that delivers character- and weapon-based combat over a sprawling open world. What We'd Like to See: A real name, and story content. We're also very curious to see how combat has come together.
