Question Of The Month Reader Responses: Issue #255
In issue 253, we asked readers who the biggest fool is in video games and why. While a few readers picked actual game characters, many were ready to point the finger at their fellow players. Here are some responses.
Don't Hate The Player:
- I think the biggest fool in the games industry is the person who buys broken, glitchy and generally bad games knowing that they're terrible.
Parker Luckenbach - The biggest fool in video games is the annoying child that thinks he is an adult. You really can't help but tell him to shut up and then watch him blame lag whenever his team loses. They never achieve anything in life except for trash talking people online for no reason. Them and Activision for pumping out the same crap that children want to buy.
Alexander Velez - I think the biggest fool in the gaming industry is Sega. They think that every time they release a Sonic game, it will be a huge hit and sell millions of copies. So, I guess by that reasoning, the biggest fools in the gaming industry are those people that keep buying Sonic games!

Looking For Love:
- Luigi, because he's always wingman for Mario when he's out chasing Peach, but never asks Mario to help a brother out so that he can a girl for himself!
Tim Freeman - The biggest fool in video games is a tie between Mario and Link. How many times do these fools have to save Peach and Zelda and still end up single?

Priorities:
- The biggest fool in video games is Bowser. He captures Peach, and then without fail, Mario comes in and rescues her. He dreams up these big plans like creating his own galaxy or locking her away in a castle yet he never seems to take into account that Mario will always be there to rescue her. If you ask me, he needs to capture Mario and Luigi first and lock them away in a castle, and then go for Peach.

What Were They Thinking?:
- Commander Keyes in Halo 3! I really hate that character. Keyes thought she could rescue Sergeant Johnson from Truth? Yeah right! Besides, both Master Chief and The Arbiter were getting close to saving him, but no – Keyes had to come only to get killed by Truth. Thanks, Bungie, for killing her off.
Robert Humphrey - Emperor Gestahl from Final Fantasy III has my vote for biggest fool, for not seeing the betrayal by Kefka.

The Tingle Defense:
- Judging from your picture of Tingle, I presume you expect a large number of letters naming him a fool. I don't understand why. We name these characters fools mainly due to their personalities and outer appearances. This is a man who works as a cartographer, and without him Link would have been lost on more than a few quests. Let us remember that these maps are not free and Tingle has to travel into treacherous areas in order to make them. He may be 35 and obsessed with forest fairies, but at least he lets his true colors shine through and doesn't care what others think of him. We could all learn something about good self-esteem from Tingle.
