Replay – Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath

by Andrew Reiner on Apr 05, 2014 at 03:00 AM

This week's episode of Replay is exclusively for the "I Watched the Entire Overblood Super Replay" Facebook group. If you are not a member of this hallowed organization of gamers, you cannot watch this episode. Seriously, don't click play. Go join the group and then come back here and watch it. If you try watching before joining, your face will melt and you won't be able to watch anything ever again.

For those awesome people who are in the group, this episode's game, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath, was selected by you in a Facebook poll. We take a good look at the introductory moments of Stranger's Wrath, which originally released exclusively on Xbox on January 25, 2005, but has since been brought to a variety of platforms including PC, PlayStation 3 (the version we are playing today), and Vita.

Stranger's Wrath blends third-person exploration with first-person gun play, seamlessly intertwining the two genres into a unique and entertaining experience. The player steps into the dusty boots of the Stranger, a mysterious drifter turned bounty hunter who is rounding up criminals to earn enough money for a surgical procedure. Why does he need it? What secret is he hiding? The game is well worth playing to find out.

Our second mystery segment was selected exclusively for Game Informer's Daniel Tack. He likes collectible card games A LOT, and this game falls right into his nerdy wheelhouse. We hope he enjoys it.
