Oh No, More Gaming Haiku

by Jeff Cork on Dec 23, 2013 at 09:00 AM

It’s been a while since I last wrote haiku about games. I couldn’t let 2013 pass without granting our dear readers at least one dose of verse. You’re welcome, or something.

So sit back, relax, and enjoy these carefully crafted poems. I spent dozens of hours on each one, making every syllable count. In the end, I think it was worth the effort. I’m sure you will as well.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag
Sailing the high seas,
My crew belting out shanties.
Waterproof iPod.

The Room 2
More puzzle boxes,
Diabolically clever,
Even roomier.

Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign
I can’t stop playing.
A background activity
For lame TV shows.

Tearaway
Everything’s so cute!
Wait. Why’s my face in the sky?
Don’t stare at this sun.

Resogun
I liked Defender.
Housemarque liked Defender, too.
Agree to agree.

Dead Rising 3
If you don’t like this,
You won’t become a zombie.
You’re already dead.

Call of Duty: Ghosts
Haters gonna hate,
but multiplayer’s a blast.
Well, while I’m winning.

Papers, Please
Next. Passport, please. Hmmm…
It all looks good. Move along.
This job is the worst.

Zoo Tycoon
Whistle, summon cart.
Run over people, honking.
This is the game, right?

Lego Marvel Super Heroes
What a huge roster!
Wait, MODOK is in here?
No need for the rest.
