Readers' Poll Voting Is Closed

by Matt Bertz on Dec 04, 2013 at 08:15 AM

UPDATE: Thank you for submitting your votes. Look for the results in the February issue of Game Informer, which hits in early January.

ORIGINAL STORY: From triple-A juggernauts like Grand Theft Auto V and The Last Of Us to indie darlings like Papers, Please and Gone Home, 2013 was jam packed with amazing games. But as they say in Highlander, there can be only one. Now is your chance to weigh in on the 2013 game of the year, as well as pick the best games from your favorite genres.

If you find yourself scrolling through the list and wondering why a particular game isn't included, here is some basic explanation of our requirements. We're only including final games, so no Steam early access alpha builds or betas were given consideration. We also decided against including ports or remastered titles like Diablo III, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, and Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix. One of the tougher calls we had to make is excluding The Wolf Among Us: Episode One – Faith. Given this episode is just the tip of the narrative iceberg, we'd rather hold off judgment until we have the full story arc. Next year the title will be given full consideration for year-end awards, including our popular Top 10 character, moments, and dorks lists found in the magazine.

Voting ends on Monday, December 16, so get your vote in while you can! The readers' picks will be announced later in the month on the website, and featured in the February issue of Game Informer.
