Forza Motorsport 5 On & Off The Track

by Matthew Kato on Nov 30, 2013 at 04:46 AM

I never said I was the world's greatest driver, and now you have the video proof. Alternately, if you want to see a full race at Sebring and what it's like to blow a lead, then this video is for you.

Sebring International Raceway (Full Circuit)

This footage was taken from a race in the Specialized league in the Rally Legends championship series. I raced a Ford RS200 Evolution (1985) with a custom mod/Roy Lichtenstein livery I created in the paint shop. I hadn't actually raced much with a rally car in the game up until this point, and it took a little getting used to. The acceleration wasn't the greatest, and naturally the car's grip vs. sliding breakpoint was different than the cars I'd previously driven.

I like this track because it has some nice turns without being filled with hard chicanes that force you to slow down to a crawl. That being said, as you can see it can be easy to get yourself in the grass.

Apart from the necessity to use a rewind here and there, you can take a look at the track/game's sunlight effect (there is no variable weather, so the sun will hit you at the same points on the same tracks), damage, and the Driveatars in action. As I mentioned in my review of the game, I was impressed how they were implemented in Forza 5.

Every car in the game can be viewed with this showroom feature, and with narration talking about the cars and other details exposed, it can be worth taking a tour of the contents of your garage.
