The lights are on
Talk to anyone who's played through Psychonauts, and you're bound to hear one of two things: "That game was awesome!" or "The meat circus can go #@% itself!"
Majesco released Double Fine's game in 2005 on the Xbox, with a port coming shortly afterward on the PlayStation 2. One of my favorite parts of the game is how each of the levels – which take place in another individual's mind – are cosmetically unique from each other. Some offer completely different gameplay, too, which I won't spoil here for people unfamiliar to the series. All you need to know is that Psychonauts is awesome, and the meat circus isn't really all that bad.
As always, we'll be updating this Super Replay on Sundays and Thursdays until the end credits roll. Let us know what you think in the comments!

Sasha Nein looks like a zombified Cyclops from X-MEN
Whew, immediately after the gameplay started I google-ed whether the game includes captions as an older game. I've avoided internet videos lately in frustration. Thanks for turning the captions on! Thankfully too nowadays most games don't have an introductory sequence before allowing access to options.
Good thing I wasn't planning on watching this until tomorrow since, once again, they couldn't be bothered to put it up on YouTube!
Yay! We badly need a sequel for this game. I have not yet abandoned hope. Still looks fun. I need to replay this and Bully.
Still waiting for the YouTube upload :/
Holy cow! I just played Psychonauts for the first time last week! An incredibly great game to do a Super Replay on, an instant classic. To anyone who has not yet played it and craves bizarre humor, it's a fantastic ride. Also has Armin Shimmerman in its voice cast as a bit 'o trivia, ya know, Star Trek's Quark and Ratchet & Clank's Dr. Nefarious. In any case, great choice GI guys!
Fantastic choice! It's on my top 10 games of all times!
Yay!!Very excited for this super replay. Great pick!
I can't believe you guys didn't at least talk to Dogan before Basic Braining. He's got a funny scene with some squirrels.
The Meat Circus murdered my platforming self.
Finally! You GI folks (esp. Dan) have been talking about playing this game for years now. Really glad to see it's finally happening!
Got this game last year and beat it this year because I got stuck grinding on the rails in the end. Overall I really recommend this game to anyone out there because the controls still hold up.
The milkman conspiracy!
I really *** loved this game.
I've always been curious about this game but never played it, or even seen it played for that matter. I'm looking forward to watching this SR
Two things I would like to point out here:
1) Jeff seems to be playing with lag. I might be wrong, though, considering those figments are really hard to judge. That and, you know, trying to keep conversation.
2) Bibs for Tuna is Bib Fortuna. Kudos, Tim. en.wikipedia.org/.../Bib_Fortuna
So the XBLA version seems to be a bit buggier than the one Cork is playing (video and audio skips on occasion), but I'm having fun playing for the first time. It's got kind of a Banjo-Kazooie aesthetic going on in terms of the platforming and collectibles. Kinda want to shoot for 100% since it seems to give pretty useful perks for doing so.
I'm currently at the same spot GI is at in the Replay, so it looks like the race is on. (Oh, and if Dan's ever in an episode, he's got to do a "RAZ STAMP!")
