Take A Photo Tour Of Kojima Productions' LA Studio

Earlier this year, Kojima Productions announced its intent to form a Los Angeles studio. Those are no longer just plans; Konami held a grand opening event yesterday, and these official photos provide an inside look at the developer's newest location.

I attended the event, getting a tour of the facility (and seeing a new Ground Zeroes demo), and the pictures do a good job highlighting what is cool about the location. Here's a quick rundown of what you aren't seeing: A cardboard box built especially for a wild rabbit that lives under the building, a kitchen with $.50 soda (it's not free because soda is not good for you), and locked doors that can be opened through fingerprint scanning.

The new studio was officially opened in a traditional Japanese ceremony where attendees (including Hideo Kojima and art director Yoji Shinkawa) drank sake from square wooden cups (pictured above) and toasted to the venture's future success.

Click through the gallery below to see the workspace that will eventually help produce more Metal Gear. Right now, the Los Angeles studio's only announced project is its contributions to Metal Gear Solid V, though Konami promises that it has other plans for the team that does not involve the Metal Gear series.
