The lights are on
Once a year, infamous Game Infarcer editor-in-chief Darth Clark emerges from his secret lair to pen a controversial editorial addressing a problematic aspect of the video game industry that most journalists are too afraid to confront. Darth Clark may not be the editor-in-chief that video game journalism deserves, but he's the editor-in-chief that video game journalism needs right now. Actually, we probably deserve him too.
This year, Darth Clark's letter from the editor tackled the all-too important issue of players enjoying their video games – an antiquated notion that dates back to simple arcade novelties like Pong and Frogger. Darth Clark took modern-day gamers to task for still having fun playing games like Halo 4; not all of our readers appreciated the wake-up call.
Despite the fact that the page with Darth Clark's opinion piece has the word "PARODY" written at the bottom – and that it's included in an April Fools feature called Game Infarcer – a number of readers still wrote in to express their disdain for Darth Clark. Below are some of the replies we received. We've removed the names of the responders to protect the gullible.
Here's the letter that caused the controversy:

How does this happen every single year? LOL!
Aside from it being the April Fool's edition of GI, and Darth Clark having a 6-10 page spread of April Fool's jokes about games, and the fact that he writes an April Fool's article, every single year...there are still people who are living in a bubble and somehow take him seriously.
I literally laughed out loud at some of the stuff written in the April Issue, and look forward to it.
The amazing part is, I bet some of these buffoons still don't realize their folly in taking DC seriously, and I bet some of them even canceled them subs and will forever wander the world not knowing about April Fool's Day at GI.
I saw this a little late but better late than never. Thanks GI, last year I wrote you a letter saying that as much as I enjoy the April Fools issue every year it was the hate mail to Darth Clark in the following months that were my favorite part of the magazine. I also asked for you to print an entire article highlighting these letters and by putting this online you did the next best thing. I still encourage you to write a compilation of all of Darth Clark's work and the responses to them and print it in a book.
Well honestly, DeathClark's reviews often happen where the games appear.... I miss his support staff but he fired them. Ya'll should take his advice to heart. I mean the crappiest games of the last 2 generations yet still made money came from him.
Hahaha wow people get maaaad
why the cute ones always snarky assholes? almost always
Darth Clark is the best fictional character ever. Whoever writes his stuff is hilarious! His next segment should be about how the people that get the next-gen consoles the day they come out aren't appreciating the games on the last consoles. "Have you played EVERY game on the last-gen console? I almost have. Which means you probably haven't touched even half. Giving up on amazing titles like Super Monkey Ball 12 is a disgrace to the whole gaming community. Get your new piece of hardware with all the bells and whistles and only 5 games. Maybe you'll see I'm right and go back to beat all of the original Nintendo games. I did. That's what a true gamer does, not for the feeling of accomplishment, but for the greater good of gaming."
How did polygon not hire him?
