The lights are on
Many gamers fondly remember pumping quarters into machines like X-Men and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the late '80s and early '90s, but some other fantastic games in the genre are often forgotten about, probably because there were fewer arcades and arcade visitors in the years that followed. Nonetheless, some of the coolest beat ‘em ups ever made came out in the mid to late 1990s, and many of them came from Capcom. This month, Bryan Vore, Joe Juba, Louis Garcia, and I checked out some of our favorites for this video glimpse into the past.

Half an hour just on old Capcom games? Sweet.
This makes me think about games when they were games! Just some friends getting together and beating SH*&T up. Miss those classic brawlers
I love that plant in Battle Circuit. Definitely going to consider buying these games. I wouldn't have even known about these if it weren't for this article.
Capcom did have some great brawlers, but my favorite has always been Technos Japan Corp's The Combatribes. Picking dudes up and swinging them from their ankles has always been a classic moment for me.
Thank goodness for MAME.If not for it,these games may have been completely lost to time, and that would be a sin.
Man, I really miss brawlers. They have generally died off with the death of arcades :[ My favorite genre of video games next to fighting games, arcade shooters and horror games! This AVP brawler was the long lost game I wish was in some form or fashion on digital download. Sure there are emulators, but i would whole heartedly support and put $ down for this. I remember spend Sooooooooooooooo much time in the arcades playing this, the first real game where I could play the Predator! I also remember a shameful Snes copy of the same name that was BEYOND TERRIBLE! www.youtube.com/watch
Double Dragon Neon helped reinvigorate my love of brawlers, they never took themselves seriously, were hours of fun and beyond over-the-top. WE NEED MORE OF THEM!!!!!
I have all these on my CPS2 emuconsole
I wonder when are they going to start back making beat em' ups, cause those were very good types of games. And they should start with a remake of Capcom's original mascot, Captain Commando!
I never forgot AVP. Been waiting for a proper home version forever. This really should be on xbla and psn by now.
Such a great feature! It was wonderful seeing these games again. Now I want to go back and play them.
