The lights are on
It's almost been five months since Nintendo launched the Wii U. The system hit with some solid first-party offerings like New Super Mario Bros. U along with ports of popular games like Batman: Arkham City and Assassin's Creed III. Wii U owners haven't had much new to play since the console's release, and to make matters worse titles are being delayed and canceled. So are you still happy you have one?
Wii U owners have been hit with some bad news. Rayman Legends is no longer a Wii U exclusive, and the game was delayed to line up with PS3 and 360 releases. The Wii U version of Aliens: Colonial Marines was also canceled following the game's dismal reviews. That may seem like a blessing more than a curse, but it still stinks that Wii U owners don't get the chance to try the game out for themselves. Additionally, Nintendo still hasn't made it possible for former Wii owners to transfer their old Virtual Console purchases over to the Wii U for play on the GamePad.
With all that in mind, do you Wii U owners still feel good about having purchased it? If you haven't bought it but were initially tempted, are you still thinking of picking one up?

I loved the games that I bought for it (Batman: AC and Super Mario Bros. U), but there's a drought of games right now. However, I love the Gamepad so much that I can't feel sorry for buying it. The interface makes it so easy to navigate to Netflix, the web browser, etc. Besides, I know that good software will eventually come out.
Nintendo has given me nothing outside of mario bros and scribblenaughts. A re prettying of a game that is nearly ten years old is hardly a carrot worth chasing after. Besides, all the "launch" titles were just a bunch of games I already played on my other systems.
Currently I don't play anything that I can't play elsewhere. But I am glad that I have one. It's nintendo. I know they will come out with more stellar 1st party games. Thats the only reason I still buy Nintendo consoles
I bought it at launch. Got the Nintendoland game and New Super Mario Bros. Haven't played either since around December nor have I gotten any other games. I used it as my Netflix device, but the abysmal battery of the Wii U tablet and the lack of ability to turn it off has sent me back to using my PS3.
Do I regret owning a Wii U? No. Do I regret getting it at launch and then never touching it? Sort of.
I can't wait for the HD Mario's, Zelda's, and hopefully a Metroid or something. That's what's keeping me hoping. Otherwise, I'm going to keep using my PS3 or 360 for multiplatform games.
I am still very contempt with my Wii U, the reason I purchased the console was to play MH3U and I have been sinking my teeth deep into the meat of that game and will continue sink into it until my nostalgia diminishes. Hopefully we start to hear about some games heading our way, because I would really like a new metroid game, and I am waiting for the new game by monolith soft which looks spectacular.
All in all I am satisfied with my purchase because I knew what i was getting into before purchasing it. The Wii U will only get better with time, and hopefully in the next year or so we see some nice releases for the console.
I really only wanted the Wii U for Wind Waker HD. Sure Nintendo has some other good first party games I would love to have/play, but at this point I don't think it justifies buying the system. Thankfully my sister bought it so I can play the games I really want.
I do, but I bought it for certain games though; one of those is Monster Hunter. So I'm happy with it. I'd like to see more from Nintendo for it that will be the driving force behind its success or failure.
I'm still going to get one eventually, but it's not on my list of priorities. I'm waiting for the inevitable price drop.
I still feel like purchasing it was a good move on my part. New Super Mario Bros. U and ZombiU have held me over until Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate hit shelves, which is now my current gaming addiction.
I knew at launch that a lot of games wouldn't be available for a few more months. But my Wii U definitely isn't collecting dust like my 3DS did after launch (I want to clarify that my 3DS is no longer collecting dust).
Love it! Mario is great, but when I picked up Lego City and Monster Hunter on a sale, I fell in love with both. I don't plan on leaving my Wii U anytime soon. Plus Super Metroid for 30 cents. (Deal with it!)
smash bros, zelda games and metroid games thats what i bought the wii u for.
When that new Xeno title from Monolith comes out, THEN I'll pick up a system.
Honestly, Lego City is a great game but not one that would make me keep the system. Zombie U is a great game as well and Mario is more of the same (fun but old). I was just looking at trading it in to Amazon as I would get the same amount there as what people are getting for them on ebay.
I'm really considering just getting rid of it because I like to get a achievements and I'll always get the Xbox version over the Wii U version. Then when the next Xbox hits, I doubt I'll ever touch the system again. Not sure what to do. hmmmmm
I haven't picked one up yet. I will when they have a larger variety of games. Not yet, but definitely getting one eventually.
I luv the Wii U. It has its problems but I still love it! I enjoy nearly all the games on Wii U.
Loving it. Just beat Lego City Undercover which took me 54 hours to completer everything. That is currently my GOTY. Love Mario and Zombiu and have Injustice Preordered which I will pickup tomorrow.
