The lights are on
Activision hasn't had much to say about its adaptation of AMC's The Walking Dead, which is quite odd considering the brand's stature. The game released today, and we wasted no time running out and firing it up for this Test Chamber episode. Jeff Cork and Tim Turi joined me for a look at the game's opening section. If you were expecting a mindless FPS, you might be pleasantly surprised.

I bought it day 1 on Wii U for 3 reasons, despite not seeing a review. I picked it up on Targets buy 2 get 1 where I was getting Lego City and NFS U anyway so it was free, I was desperate for a new FPS on the U since being done with COD, and I'm a big TWD fan.
Graphics are definitely behind the curve but not overly bad during gameplay. Loved the intro and how they make it feel JUST like an episode on TV. The in between travel take is also refreshing and neat. So far the melee does annoy me, I'm yet to have the stealth kill actually work. Then it takes 3 jabs of a machete to kill a zombie, where they just stand there in front of you like a boxer. The first machete hit is more like a slap to their face, and sounds like it too.
My last beef, and maybe I'm not looking in the right place, is how do I play off screen on Wii U? Inside the case it literally shows a graphic of someone playing off screen yet I don't see where to activate in the game.
If you are a huge TWD fan and need a new FPS on Wii U this isn't a bad choice, but I'd score it a 7, maybe 7.5 tops. To others with ps3 or xbox and other games to play, unless you're obsessed with TWD and Daryl, skip this or pick it up cheap.
You guys wanna see something funny? Pause the video at 4:05 and 4:13 and look up in the top right corner... Something looks out of place.
beat it in 4 hours, very very bad game, reused maps, graphics sucks, glitchy, barely any story, looks like they wanted to just cash in on TWD name. which is a shame cause it could have had so much potential.
Well.... atleast I got my pre-order zombie ear, traded it in as soon as I beat it, it was that bad.
It looks pretty cool. May pick it up in a few months when the price drops.
This genuinely looks better than what I ever anticipated.
Looks cool, actually. I'll have to give it a look.
all i can say is don't buy this game. it's about 3 hours long, the graphics looks like crap (inb4 hurr durr graphics don't matter), the PC port is pretty much shite, it's just not worth the money.
I've been really interested in this game. I have yet to watch the show and play the arcade game. Which soon I will do both don't worry. Anyway, this is a good look at the game. I wish I could have seen a look farther into it but it is fine. Thanks for having this on here. I am going to rent it and check it out still. You guys were quite funny. Good Test Chamber.
Bwhaha called it getting about a 5/10 xD
I love the fact that Activision can push out games like this that are not overly good and feels almost incomplete, but nobody cares and it's totally acceptable. Yet when certain other companies do this everyone is in an uproar and saying how horrible they are for doing that to fans, it's a load of bull that everyone is being such hypocrites about this kind of stuff. Don't get me wrong I still like the game but only because I'm a huge fan of the show, but of all the games I've purchased in the last few years this is the most disappointed by.
Boy does this look boring as heck. I guess people will just have to wait until another Telltale game.
So it got a 5...
It got a 5/10, I'll rent it.
You mean it has a chance of not sucking? Awesome then!
Doesn't look 1/2 bad. I'll wait for the price drop then play it.
Hmm.. Looks interesting.
