The lights are on
Back in 2009 the general manager for Eidos-Montreal announced that the studio was creating the next entry in the long-dormant Thief series. Then the studio was silent. Rumors of cancellation and leaked videos kept fans on pins and needles for the next four years. Our cover story announcing the Thief reboot marked the studio's emergence from the shadows with a focused and promising new game.
So what went wrong? Why was Eidos-Montreal quiet for so many years? Watch the video below to hear the leaders of the team explain why they announced the game so early, the missteps along the way, and why they are now confident in their new vision for Thief.

This one needs to come to Wii u.
Great video. It's interesting to see what went wrong, but I'm really glad they took their time and are finally releasing Thief.
my beat is the more trip hop/poppy thing, obv not the orchestral music
The stars are aligned for this game, I hope they follow through.
That's cool.
Thief is a diamond? If this diamond had a deadly plague and goverment conspirators fighting over it.
cant wait to give this series a try.
I like Eidos Montreal's elevators! There's a Deus Ex picture everywhere in that building!
Interesting. Might have to look into this series now.
It will be awsome , cuz its eidos montréal , but i kinda have the feeling that its story and characterization wont be as good as deus ex , but its just a feeling , too soon to judge.
Im really looking forward to thief's music , cuz i really think DEHR had the best music !!! Is it gonna be Michael McCann again ? I really hope so
I want to see gameplay
Long time Garrett! How is that fake glass eye?
Still have the three games that i purchased for PC...miss you like hell.
Can't wait to return to the shadows this time on the PS4.
I do believe it will be a "real" Thief but i also suspect, thou Garrett don't speak much, that the game will have RPG components with side missions and lots of hidden treasures/artifacts...sweet.
So when are they going to announce deus ex 3??
Does anyone else hear a lawnmower?
