The lights are on
If you're on this site, chances are you can hum a good amount of game music just off of memory. Hell, plenty of people who have never played a game in their life can instantly recognize the Mario theme. However, things aren't always as pleasant as exploring Zelda's overworld while listening to sweeping, iconic tunes. We've all had times in which we've scrambled to the options menu to turn music down or even turn the damn game off. Here's our big list of the biggest offenders.
The Adventures of Rad Gravity - Title Screen (NES)
We'll start with one of the worst tracks on this entire list, but it's also one that several of us have become weirdly fond of after repeated viewings.
Mario Party 2 - Honeycomb Havoc (Nintendo 64)
This one doesn't start out offensively bad, but the looping tune becomes gradually more annoying as you play this luck-filled minigame.
Doom - The Imp's Song (32X)
This sounds like a smoke detector going off while a car sits outside with its bass turned up too high.
Gears of War - Cole Train rap (Xbox 360)
Ending credits raps were lame even when Tone Loc did it for Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. Cole Train's rap after the first Gears of War was not an exception.
Resident Evil: Director's Cut - Mansion Basement (PSone)
According to the top YouTube comment, this track sounds like "Charlie Brown's parents having sex." That comment isn't wrong.

LoL I don't remember that song of Resident Evil.
A handful of good songs on here. Pumpkin Hill, Take You For A Ride, and that final battle robot song are good songs! Used in the wrong place in the case of Ride and the robot song, though.
Not gonna lie, the Dragon's Dogma song is on my iPhone... And I totally remember the Pumpkin Hill Rap as a childhood favorite.
Take you for a ride is soooo annoying. MvC 2 is a great game though.
i agree with dragon's dogma...start's off good but video game music should not have lyrics...except marvel vs capcom 2...i am offended it even made the list...that game along with all its music is one of my fondest child hood memories
I thought that Knuckles song was pretty good when I was a kid, it definitely is weird though for a sonic game but that just made it funny for me.
Honestly I think Sonic has some of the best songs out of any game series, even a lot of the modern games that are really bad still have good music.
NO!!!!! Knuckles totally rocked the rap in Pumpkin Hill!!!! You can't hate that!!!!! Why!!!!!!! You've ruined my life!!!!!!!
I was not expecting the Dragons Dogma theme LOL
I gotta say I actually like a few of these songs. The one from Sacred 2 is badass, the Doomsday Warriors one, and the Metropolis Theme from Sonic Chronicals.
I liked the pumpkin hill song.
Oh man, that song from San Francisco Rush always makes me laugh. I like that game a lot but I would just play it to show my friends that song sometimes. I love how older games have random stuff like that.
I don't know... The Dragon's Dogma intro has grown on me, it's really quite enjoyable after the first couple of times.
Ok, What's your name is a classic, it's a song about typing in your name while you're typing in your name!
