The lights are on
If you're on this site, chances are you can hum a good amount of game music just off of memory. Hell, plenty of people who have never played a game in their life can instantly recognize the Mario theme. However, things aren't always as pleasant as exploring Zelda's overworld while listening to sweeping, iconic tunes. We've all had times in which we've scrambled to the options menu to turn music down or even turn the damn game off. Here's our big list of the biggest offenders.
The Adventures of Rad Gravity - Title Screen (NES)
We'll start with one of the worst tracks on this entire list, but it's also one that several of us have become weirdly fond of after repeated viewings.
Mario Party 2 - Honeycomb Havoc (Nintendo 64)
This one doesn't start out offensively bad, but the looping tune becomes gradually more annoying as you play this luck-filled minigame.
Doom - The Imp's Song (32X)
This sounds like a smoke detector going off while a car sits outside with its bass turned up too high.
Gears of War - Cole Train rap (Xbox 360)
Ending credits raps were lame even when Tone Loc did it for Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. Cole Train's rap after the first Gears of War was not an exception.
Resident Evil: Director's Cut - Mansion Basement (PSone)
According to the top YouTube comment, this track sounds like "Charlie Brown's parents having sex." That comment isn't wrong.

Posts like these are fantastic! I'd say my favorite one is definitely Resident Evil Director's Cut - Mansion Basement. It sounds like if Groose's theme tried to be implemented into a horror game.
And an entire page dedicated to bad sonic music? Absolutely love it. Although I think this one needs particular attention www.youtube.com/watch
Okay How is the Donkey Kong 64 rap not in this list? That song made me wanna rip my ears out.
To be fair though, there's also been a lot of great music from the sonic franchise too. I still think the sonic cd (american) soundtrack was great beginning to end. But everything about sonic spinball stressed me out, even that wacky music. I could never make it too far in that game before cussing at the screen and rage quitting!
the sacred 2 concert was awesome until that guy started singing
I liked that Resident Evil one. It gave the area a kind of creepy atmosphere.
Am I the only one who un-ironically LOVE the Dragon's Dogma theme? Well, the original is a bit better.
I couldn't even listen to 10 seconds of the Crazy Bus theme. However, I thought the Tagin' Dragon one was "so bad, it's good", in a way.
Oh dear god my my.
Shhhh, 6 pages? You're trying to get me to stop working altogether, huh?
I actually happen to love the soundtracks of most sonic games, the adventure series being up there with the original games on my list, and i always liked how if you listened to knuckles "rap" lyrics in his songs on the sonic adventure games how it basically told his opinion on his story at that point in the game.
Thank you GI, for finding me my new driving mix.
Wow. That really does sound like Charlie Brown's parents having sex. Terrible.
Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 had that g****** take you for a ride song playing on a loop and oh god I hate it so much. The music in that game is terrible. On two separate occasions I had different people walk past me playing, stop, and ask wtf was I listening to.
I always thought the Doom OST was great. Then you hear tracks like that...
Also, are those the real Avenged Sevenfold dorks? I don't know what they look like, so I'm not sure, but if this is making me cringe now, I can only imagine how it will look in ten years.
I don't think DD is one of the worst...Just the most unusual. I was not expecting elegant piano music to turn into a Japanese guy trying to sing in English. It isn't terrible. Just not very good.
I love the Roseanna/Whitney comparison.
I think what was done to the FF13 soundtrack should qualify it for the stupidist/most bizarre localization award.
Last page filled with Sonic music that's the worst?!?!
Dan, you have successfully pissed me the **** off. *Cluck-Chank*.
