The lights are on
For the first time in a decade, players are getting a true sequel in the SimCity series. The latest installment in the classic franchise from Maxis is available in stores today (and via download on Origin), and we run through what fans should expect.
Even though my review isn't up yet, you can join me, Andrew Reiner, and Jeff Cork as we run through the basic features of this city-builder. It is a different kind of simulation from what longtime SimCity fans might have hoped, but it still delivers complexity, layers of data, and the thrill of creating a thriving city from nothing. Watch the video below for the full rundown.

It is very good thus far.
Wow, this game looks good. May think about a purchase of this.
I haven't played Sim City since the SNES. Looks pretty cool.
It's been quite some time since I've dove into a SimCity game. This one looks like a good reason to jump back in. ^_^
I've never liked simulators, but how awesome this has seemed in videos has me intrigued. I might pick it up if it goes down a bit in price.
I haven't played Simcity in such a long time. This looks like a lot of fun.
I'm cautiously excited, considering the quality of EA servers...
Actually you can place trees.
The music in this game is fantastic.
I deeply disagree with many of the choices EA and Maxis made with this game. Although, I'd love to play it, I can't if I'm going to "vote with my wallet", and I find that disappointing to the highest degree. I'm angry and annoyed as well, but mostly I just find it sad.
I've never played Sim City, but this looks really fun.
