The lights are on
By now you've probably heard that the next installment of the Assassin's Creed series will put you in the role of Connor's grandfather as he builds up a pirate crew and sails the Caribbean sea, but why? With a universe that can take you to any point in history, what was so attractive about the pirate setting? While visiting Ubisoft Montreal we spoke to the game's director, writer, and art director to learn more about what excites them about creating the ultimate pirate fantasy wish-fulfillment.

I was skeptical of the whole pirate thing, but I'm won over. Really excited now.
No one else played AC3 for the Pirate side and was dissapointed? Everyone is uneasy but this is EXACTLY what I wanted them to have done the entire time I played AC3. ITS PERFECT!
Yes! Gimme more Ubisoft! More pirates I say!
Pirates Creed. Lol.
Pirate assassins? Maybe they'll fight ninja knights. Hahahaha.
But on a more serious note, wouldn't it be better if they did larger time jumps?
Not sure the way I feel about this announcement. I was hoping for some post apocalyptic, gladiators, medieval times, or feudal Japanese setting.
Zombies are right around the corner
You now have my attention.
So I assume by the GameInformer logo on the artwork pieces this is the cover reveal game?
This concept is really interesting. I think pirates is a great fit for the series too.
It feels weird to say, but Black Flag isn't going to be a day one purchase for me. I did enjoyed most of ACIII including the naval combat, but the persistent bugs even after two major patches have made me cautious. I will still get it eventually, but I will wait until all the reviews come in and any potential launch issues are resolved.
As much as Id like to see a Japanese/Chinese AC,it just wouldn't make sense historically.I'm sorry, but as resourceful as they may be, there's no way the assassins went to china before Marco pollo and kept it a secret and even then there's no way they've discovered Japan. That being said, I'd like a game in the time period when Muslims and Christians fought over Spain. It's a suitable time and would provide an explanation to what happened between Altair and Ezio.
I think the setting could be really cool, and I'm surprised it has taken so long for there to be a AAA pirate game.
I'm also excited that they are going backwards in time.
Alright so how do I download this video? I seriously NEED this video.
If they can deliver on the promises they're making, this might just become my favorite game ever. I'm not even a huge fan of the Assassins Creed franchise. I'm just a sucker for pirates, always have been. Listening to them describe the game makes me feel like they're trying really hard to make a game specifically for ME. I'm excited.
I am really interested in this. I haven't got around to #3 yet, it just didn't catch my eye. I think I might buy this day one.
