The lights are on
Some fans might be worried about The Witcher 3's leap to an open world, that the tightly-constructed narrative of previous entries might be sacrificed to appease a growing trend in the industry. Rest assured, the development team at CD Projekt RED is confident that they have created the perfect fusion of exploration and narrative.
Watch the video interview to hear the game's director and lead quest designer talk about converting the world of The Witcher and what lessons they have learned from games like Skyrim, Fallout: New Vegas, and Assassin's Creed 3.

Given that a lack of expansiveness in the game world was one of the very few faults I had with The Witcher 2, I have to say I'm really loving the idea of a more open world.
I just started the first one yesterday after beating the second one a couple of times....Loving it so much! I hope they are able to merge the feel of the first and second one seamlessly, cause they have differing styles but still feel like The Witcher...First one feels more like the book too which I am also currently reading, Good Stuff!!!
Very excited about Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077.
As soon as I heard about Witcher 3 I reloaded Witcher 1 again.
Oh man...I can't freaking wait.
I loved Witcher and I really liked Skyrim so they've bought me already. And if they will fix not-perfect story and quests and dungeons of Skyrim and put some really engaging stuff in this big world... Perfect RPG.
I think that the reason we all love Skyrim (despite its plentiful flaws) us that it nailed its main source of engagement: exploration. I did not play Skyrim for its combat (it was meh), its story (mostly bad, some meh), or its characters (what characters?). The reason Skyrim is so engaging is the curiosity and wonder you feel going through the world which drives continuous play. If CDProjectRed can pull off that sense of wonder and exploration while maintaining the Witcher's strengths, it has the potential to be the new bar for RPGs.
Also, I hope there is a creation kit-like modding tool for this game. The potential for never ending play is there, but is hard to get without a constant stream of content (which modding provides).
What they have learned is that this will be epic indeed.
Awesome I cant wait.
Can't wait for this
