Test Chamber – Devil May Cry (Dante Must Die Mode)

A couple of weeks ago, we posted an episode of Test Chamber dedicated to the Devil May Cry demo. It's nice to get a first look at a game, but that difficulty was for pansies. This week, I brought in my 360 to show off the ultra-difficult Dante Must Die mode.

Watch below to get a taste of what Dante has in store for him on this unlockable difficulty.

  • I'm loving the new DMC it's so much fun! I also don't mind Dante's new look.

  • Not a fan of the way the combo gauge stays at SSS until you get hit...in previous games that style meter will decrease until you hit something else. The demon dodge is pretty abusable too. The only cool new weapon is the Aquila (it's seriously an awesome weapon). Not really digging this game a lot on the whole though.

Also...I'm not sure what Joe was talking about with DMC4 achievements. Not a whole lot of collecting there, outside of getting red orbs and proud souls (which you get by playing through the game naturally). The truly hard achievements in that game were getting all S ranks on Dante Must Die and getting an S rank on Bloody Palace. Oh, and doing all the secret missions.
  • *folds arms and gives this video a judgemental stare* Hmph

Seeing all those enemies on screen looks like pure combat heaven to me, I'm on the fritz about buying this but I am very interested in seeing what kind of combos I can come up with in this game, kind of a bummer DmD mode has been watered down a bit (No enemy devil trigger?) but it looks tough enough.
  • SSSensational!!!!

  • i always struggle to get all the devil may cry trophies but this game was the easiest of the bunch ,i don't have anymore reason to replay the game at all :/ good thing i rented it
  • He's saying that normal is for pansies but I'm sure that he couldn't handle Dante Must Die.
  • Dan go beat Tyson already.

  • this game is great, but watching someone else play on a higher difficulty (i am on son of sparda) and die way less is pretty embarrassing

  • Need to try this game.

  • The game Dan doesn't suck at ;)

  • Tyson and Dante Must Die? Man Dan has been ballsy lately. Let's hope he does a Ghost n' Goblins Super Replay to Reiner's chagrin, lol.
  • Sweet. Can't wait to watch!

  • Umm, yeah... If I ever get DmC, there is no way in Hell I'm playing on Dante Must Die. I'm nowhere near good enough to do any of the stuff shown in this Test Chamber.

  • I'm not a fan of combo heavy games so I'll never pick this up. But it does look cool. I always like seeing stylish action.
  • This game is completely epic. I wanna see them play Hell and Hell!

  • Man I love this game and I alternating between this and Mario U challenge mode and have a tough time deciding which is harder. Definitely Mario U 5 star speed runs right now but I haven't unlocked the hardest DmC difficulty yet. Also are we getting a Ni No Kuni Test Chamber soon? I am curious but not fully committed yet on that game.
  • Wow, Dan looked totally epic playing that. I've never played any DmC before, but this one looks really good.

  • I loved this game!!

  • Wow this does look way tougher.  I took GI's advice and played through the game on Nephilim the first time, and I'm glad I did because it had a decent mix of challenge and fun.  I was going to give the harder difficulties a spin, but Ni No Kuni comes out tomorrow, so that's going to have to wait.

As an aside, I don't see why so many people are hating on this game's lack of difficulty.  DmC is definitely no easier than DMC4 was; just because the difficulty doesn't match the best game in the series (DMC3) doesn't mean that the game is any less good.

  • Very impressive Dan :D
