The lights are on
This week we take a look at Free Radical Design's TimeSplitter's 2, which boasts many former Rare employees that worked on games like GoldenEye 007 on the N64 among its developers. We were amazed at just how many similarities there are between this goofy game and everyone's favorite N64 FPS when we popped in the PS2 version.
This week it's Andrew Reiner, Dan Ryckert, intern Mike Mahardy, and myself checking out TimeSplitters 2. This episode also marks the departure of Mike, who will be missed (until we forget about him). Stick around to see Reiner put his old-school gaming skills to the test in the second segment.

I miss the timesplitter series! I remember the teamdeathmatch playing as a duck vs. a cookie man, lion, octopus, and a clown. I WANT TO BE A DAMN DUCK IN COD!!!!!!
This was a great Replay! I have always wanted to play a Timesplitters game but never got a hold of a copy. I am absolutely in love with Golden Eye and Perfect Dark. Rare made N64 one of my favorite consoles and most memorable games on it! I was just amazed and shocked at how close this game looked to the Golden eye games. Even the music was right on target. I will defiantly have to pick up a copy and try this game and the other ones out. Also I would love to see Reiner in PD. You should post a picture of the character in the Facebook group or something. I would love to see that! The Stress Test looked great and I was glad Reiner was chosen to be the one to go through the game. I have always wondered about that series and now that I got a good look at it I have to agree it looks very difficult. Great Replay all together though. Really enjoyed it.
the crossbow is the best weapon by far, i would never have beaten super ghouls n ghosts without it
I am surprised I never tried timesplitters. I think the goofy lettering and crazy looking characters turned me off. I was a kid who was trying too hard to be serious.. HA! Lame.
Man I miss this series...
best game in the world
Even to this day, I still play TimeSplitters 2 (sadly my copy of the third one went MIA a while ago). It still stacks up to the current generation of games, I have to say. Can't beat the zany, madcap humor of it!
This needs to get on XBLA.
Holy crap, Reiner pulling it out at the end can only be described as epic. Well done sir, very well done indeed.
Totally agree that this should be on XBLA (and PSN.) That would be so awesome to have online multiplayer with this game.
I also have to say that this game had some of the most memorable music too, I loved the soundtrack.
And yes, the map editor was sweet. I made quite a few things with that editor, even adding my own story/objectives.
