Spoiled! The Walking Dead

It is difficult to talk about The Walking Dead without spoiling some of the game's shocking moments, but we wanted to wait until people had time to play episode five before we posted an episode of Spoiled. While there were spoilers for a couple of key scenes from the first episode in our discussion on what makes it one of the best games of 2012 (that you can watch here), now it's time to cover the entire first season.

Watch the video below to hear Andrew Reiner, Tim Turi, Ben Reeves, and Kim Wallace talk about the highlights, lowlights, and potential future direction for The Walking Dead.

  • Sweet!
  • I played through them all at once and I feel like I robbed myself of the chance to absorb them as Ben said, but still, it was a darn good experience that got me the chance to see this.
  • Rude! I just started playing today. Can't watch yet.

    Get out of here, boat!
  • Awesome. You should throw together a chart sometime showing what choices have what effects. I feel like it's far less than what the developers would have us believe. Still loved playing it though!
  • I think you will not be controlling Clementine. You'll play as someone else who's trying to gain the trust of Clementine, if you raised her right or wrong it will all backfire on you. If clementine is a super violent paranoid badass with a gun who lies alot, it'll be all your (Lee's) fault because she was taught to do so and Clementine Remembers, she ALWAYS remembers lol.

Season 3 or 4 will probably be a throwback to one with Clem raising Omids baby or toddler.

  • I've always wondered what happens if you don't chop off the guys leg in Episode 2.
  • awesome, I'm really glad you guys did this. I never made that pregnancy connection when I played the game, def gives something to think about waiting for the second season.

I was surprised that blonde chick didn't show up again in episode 5, I really thought she would somehow since the group never left on a boat.
  • I'm glad this game got GOTY, its without a doubt one of my favorite games of all time. Its been a while since I've played a game with a story as good as this one
  • I always wondered what would have happened if lee went alone in episode 5. Would Vernon and the cancer patients taken the boat anyway even though that would mean they somehow managed to overwhelm at least  3 people?

  • I forgot about the Krista pregnancy rumors.  Let's hope season two addresses that!

  • I still think I'm sad from the ending of that game and I beat it weeks ago

  • Excellent remarks.

  • Can someone describe how this games gameplay is like. I don't want to watch the video because I am thinking about getting this.
  • She's definitely prego! Didn't Lee say "You're walking for two" right before he went across the sign in episode 5? I'm sure he said it for me. (I sent him across the sign first btw)
  • Ben is a silly man.

  • My personal GOTY
  • one of the best games this year.

  • Thanks guys for a nice discussion. It means a lot to see you and hear you talk. Yes, you're all real, well, sort of - not more dead than the other chaps around anyway! :)

I agree with Kim Wallace about this guy that was throwing accusations on you at the end! I was SO dissapoint (son)! This was lazy work and not very good from my perspective as a gamer - I want more, more than even Mass Effect tried to give me (but they failed too). It really took me away from the story (Clementine and Lee!), it is too simplified, certainly so when you've invested a lot of feelings, thoughts and time during the wait for the closure. Maybe I've invested too much of my hope in the media itself. It was very wise, though, to publish the series in episodes, otherways maybe the game would have gone unnoticed for the most of us. It was a small step forward, but not much more I'm afraid. I have an undying (not really) hope for the gaming industry to be more independent visavi the movie industry as well as other media.
  • HA! I like that editing at the end.
