The lights are on
Ever since we featured XCOM: Enemy Unknown on the cover of the February issue of Game Informer, the excitement and passion for the game within the office has only grown. War stories from the alien-littered battlefields dominated every morning discussion and we were taught how a turn-based strategy game can lead to some of the most tense moments we have ever experienced in a game.
We gathered Game Informer editors Adam Biessener (read his review here), Dan Ryckert, Tim Turi, and Jeff Marchiafava to talk about their experience with the game and why it ranks so high in their favorite games of 2012.

Aldready knew it.
XCOM was certainly my game of year, wish it got more attention and mention in the VGA's and within the GOY news stories across all of the sites.
I bought this game on a whim because I wanted a new game and was hearing good things and positive reviews. It ended up being way better and way more frustrating (in a good way) than I thought it would be. XCOM is my game of the year.
I still haven't played this game. :(
I don't like strategy games but this I can't pass up.
I think is the first time I've ever SEEN Adam Biessener. Love these video features.
Can't wait I'm getting this game for Christmas.
It's def a game i want to pick up, but with such a backlog of other games released that I have yet to get, games coming out soon AND games I'm surrently playing/needing to play, i'll have to wait for it to go on sale T-T
This site really got me on board with XCOM, and even being a strategy noob and having no experience with the previous XCOM, I loved this game, and had more fun with it than just about any release of the last few years. At the studio I work at, 3 of us picked this up, and like was said in the video, every morning we'd come in and talk about our war stories. We're back to doing the same thing now with the Slingshot DLC out. Someone said GI won't shut up about this game, well, there's a reason why. I sincerely hope enough people play this game to warrant another down the road.
I picked it up a few weeks ago. I've never been into strategy games, but the demo managed to pull me in after several playthroughs. Its not my goty, but its still a blast to play.
Xcom is deffently the game i have apreciated the most this year.. and yes i do want more of these kinds of games, just not as mutch as shooter´s,because then im just gonna get bored with em,just like shooters.
